TheMISCpagecontainsfivemiscellaneous(butveryimportantanduseful)sequencer
parameters.TheMISCpageappearsbelow:
Control Chase
Acommonshortcomingofmanyoldersequencersisthatwhenyoustartasequenceatsome
pointinthemiddleofsequence,thecontrollersremainattheircurrentlevelsuntilthesequencer
comesacrossacontrollerevent.ControlChaseremediesthis(generally)undesiredbehavior.
WhenControlChaseisOn,allnon
‐noteMIDIeventsfromthebeginningofthesonguptothe
currenttimearecomputed,andthemostrecentnon‐noteMIDIeventissentoutbeforestarting
playback.Thisensuresthatthevolume,panning,programchanges,andothercontrollersforthe
songarecorrect,regardlessofwhereyou
startthesong.WithControlChasesettoOff,the
sequencerbehavesaspreviouslydescribed.
Quant
TheQuantizeparameterdeterminestheamount ofreal‐timequantization(ifany)appliedtothe
sequenceduringrecording.Thepercentagespecifiedforthisparameter istheamountof
quantizationthesequencerappliestothegrid(seebelow)foreachNoteeventrecorded.
Notethatusingreal‐timequantizationhasthesame
effectasrecordingnormally,andthenusing
theQuantizeTrackEditingoperation.
Grid
Thegridparameterdeterminestheresolutionofquantizationandthepositionofthegrid
points.
