Pedals
PlugyourswitchorcontinuouspedalsintothecorrespondingjacksonthePC3K’srearpanel.
WerecommendusingtheKurzweilpedalsdescribedonpage 15,butyoucanusealmostany
switchorcontinuouspedal,aslongasitadherestothefollowings p ecifications(asmostpedals
do):

Ifyouuseathirdparty(nonKurzweil)switchpedal,makesureit’sconnectedbeforeyouturn
onyourPC3K.Thisensuresthatthepedalwillworkproperly(itmightfunctionbackward—off
whenit’sdownandonwhenit’s
up—ifyouturnonyourPC3Kbeforeplugginginthepedal).
Similarly,don’tpressanyofyourswitchpedalswhilepoweringup,becausethePC3Kverifies
eachpedal’sorientationduringpowerup.Ifyou’ repressingapedal,youmightcauseittowork
backward.
Thepedalsareindependentlyprogrammablewithineach
zoneofeverysetup.Herearethe
defaultsettingsforthefivepedalsyoucanusewiththePC3K:

Breath
The3.5mmjacklabeledBreathacceptsastandardbreathcontroller,whichsendsstandardMIDI
Breath(MIDI2)messages.ThePC3K’spresetprogramsandsetupsdon’trespondtobreath,but
ifyouhaveotherinstrumentsthatdorespondtoBreath,youcancontrol themfromthePC3Kvia
MIDI.
Youcanalso
programthePC3Ksothatthe breathcontrollersendsadifferentMIDImessage.
ThiswouldenableyoutouseabreathcontrollertoaffectthePC3K,butthenotherinstruments
receivingMIDIfromthePC3KwouldnolongerrespondtothePC3K’sbreathcontroller(unless
youalsoprogrammedthemtoreceive
thesameMIDIControllerthatthePC3K’sbreath
controllerissending).
