Master Table Lock (Master Lock)
WithMasterLocksetto Off,thePC3KwillsavethecurrentMastermodeconfigurationwhen
youexitMastermode(orMIDImode).ThisinformationisstoredinaMasterTableobject(see
Save on page 11‐18belowformoredetailsonwhatissavedwithaMasterTable.)
Ifyouhave
aparticularMasterconfigurationthatyouwouldliketosafeguardagainsttheauto‐
savingfeature,setMasterLocktoOn.Withthe MasterLockon,thePC3Kdoesnotsaveany
changesunlessyoupresstheSavesoftbutton.NotethatifyouwouldlikeMasterLocktostay
on
nexttimeyouturnonthePC3 K,youmustpresstheSavesoftbuttontostorethestateof
MasterLocktotheMasterTable.
Demo Button
TheDemoButtonparameterdetermineswhatpressingthePlay/Pausebuttondoesinprogram
mode.WiththeDemobuttonparametersettoOn,thePlay/Pausebuttonplaysademosongfor
thecurrentprogram.(Toplay ademosong,theDemoSongparametermustbesetinthe
programeditorforthe
currentprogram,seepage 6‐37fordetails.)WiththeDemobutton
parametersettoOff,thePlay/PausebuttonplaysthelastsongthatwasselectedinSongMode.
Ifademosongissetforthecurrentprogram,itcanalwaysbeplayedfromprogrammodeby
simultaneouslypressingthe
upanddowncursorbuttons.
Buttons Mode (Buttons)
IfyousettheButtonsparametertoOn,pressinganybuttonsonthePC3KwillgenerateSystem
Exclusive(SysEx)messagesthataresenttotheMIDIOutport.Thisenablesyoutodotwo
things:controlaremotePC3K,and/orrecordsequencesofprogrammingbuttonpressestoa
sequenceror
SysExsoftwarepackage.
IfyouhavetheMIDIInportofanotherPC3Kconnectedtothefirstone’sMIDIOutport,the
secondinstrumentwillrespondtoeverybuttonpressonthefirstinstrument,justasifyouwere
pressingthebuttonsofthesecondone.Keepinmindthatboth
devicesmustbeinexactlythe
samestate(thesamepageinthesamemode,withidenticallistsofRAMobjects)whenyoustart.
Otherwisethebuttonpressesyoumakeonthefirstinstrumentmayexecuteotherfunctionson
thesecondinstrument.
Again,it’simportanttokeepinmindthatthe
stateofyourPC3Kmustbeidenticaltoitsstate
whenyourecordedthesequenceofbuttonpresses.Ifyou’veaddedordeletedanyobjects
storedinRAM, forexample,thesequenceofbuttonpresseswillselectdifferentobjectswhen
youplaybackthebuttonpresssequence.
NOTE:Makesurethis
parameterissettoOffbeforeyouinitiateaSysExdumpofanykind.Ifthis
parameterisonwhenyoustartadump,thebuttonsyoupresstobeginthedumpwillalsogenerateSysEx
messages.
Display
TheDisplayparameterdetermineswhatwillbedisplayedintheinfoboxontheleftsideofthe
ProgramModeandSetupModemainpages.WhenDisplayissettoLyr/Zone,theinfoboxwill
displayanoverviewofthekeymapnamesandrangesforeachlayerinthecurrent
Program
(whileinProgramMode,)oranoverviewoftheProgramnamesandrangesforeachzoneinthe
currentSetup(whileinSetupMode.)Thelinebeneaththenameofthekeymap/program
indicatesthekeyboardrangeofthatlayer/zone.Forexample,alineextendingallthewayacross
theinfo
boxrepresentsalayer/zonethatextendsfromC‐1toG9—thefull128noterangeofthe
PC3K.Therepresentationoftheselayer/zonerangesisapproximate;they’reintendedtoletyou
knowifyouhavealayeredkeyboard(linesoverlapping)orasplitkeyboard(linesnot
overlapping).InProgram
Mode,stereokeymaplayersareindicatedintheinfoboxwitha
doublecirclesymbol.InSetupMode,zonesthathavetheRiffparametersettoOn(Onthe
