continuesuntilalloftheDSPunitsareusedup.

YoucanoverridethedefaultDSPunitusageandmanuallycontrolwhichchannelscanuseDSP
units
andwhichcannot.UsetheEffectsEnablepagetoturnonoroffDSPunitusageforthe
programoneachMIDIchannel.
OntheEffectsEnablepage,eachchannelcanbesettoYtouseDSPunitsforthatchannel,ortoN
tonotuseDSPunitsforthat
channel.SomechannelssettoYmaybedisplayedas(Y).This
meansthattherearenotenoughDSPunitsavailableforthatchannel,andthatchannel’seffects
arenotloaded.Usethecursorbuttonstoselecteachchannel,thenusetheAlphaWheelor‐/+
buttonstosetthe
selectedchanneltoY orN.
Asthecursorismovedfromlefttorightonthesepages,theInsertandAuxEffectsChainsfor
eachchannelaredisplayedonthebottomofthepage.(AuxChainsareonlydisplayedifthechannel
isthecurrentchannelinProgramModeor
thespecifiedAuxEffectschannelinSetuporSongmode.)The
numberofDSPunitsrequiredtoloadeffectsforthecursor‐highlightedchannelisshownatthe
topofthepage.
Note:Whenachannelisn’tallocatingDSPunitsbecauseit’ssettoNor(Y)(becauseresources
areexhausted,)
thechannelstillsend sitssignaltotheAuxsends.IfthechannelsettoNor(Y)
hasitsAuxsendsturnedup,andtheAuxeffectisonachannelsettoY,thechannelsettoNor
(Y)willstillbeprocessedbytheAuxeffects
onthechannelsettoY.(OntheEffectsEnablepage,the
channelwithaboxarounditschannelnumbercontainstheAuxChainscurrentlybeingused.Thisisthe
currentlyselectedchannelinProgrammode,orthespecifiedAuxEffectchannelinSetupandSong
mode.)

withoutenteringtheProgramEditor.
EachPrograminthePC3KcanbesavedwithtwoAuxeffectschains.InProgramMode,the
programonthecurrentMIDIchanneldeterminestheAuxeffectchainsusedforprogramsonall
channels.(InSetupand
SongmodeAuxchainsaredeterminedbytheprogramonthespecifiedAux
Effectschannel.)TochangeAuxeffectsettingswithoutenteringtheProgramEditor,enterEffects
ModeandgototheAux1orAux2Overridepage.(GototheAUX1andAUX2pagesinSongmode
orthe
SetupEditor.)YoucanselectadifferentAuxeffectchain,setAuxsendlevelsforprograms
oneachchannel,andsetotherbasicAuxeffectparameters.InProgramMode,theseparameters
remainattheiroverridevaluesuntilthePC3Kisrestarted,oruntilyouresettheminEffect
modeto
thedefaultvalueslistedinthetablebelow.(InSetupandSongmodethesesettingsaresaved
witheachSetuporSong.)
