EachEffectChainiscomposedofaneffect‐boxoraseriesofeffect‐boxes.Eacheffect‐boxusesa
certainamountofthePC3K’seffectsprocessingpower,representedasanumberof“DSPunits.”
ThenumberofDSPunitsusedbyaneffect‐boxorChainreflectshowcomplexthe
effect’s
algorithmis—morecomplexeffectsrequiremoreprocessingpower.Youcanuseupto16DSP
unitsatatimesharedbetweenalleffects(exceptMastereffects,whichdon’tuseanyDSPunits.)

Aux Override
Normally,inProgrammodetheAuxEffectsChainsarespecifiedbytheprogramonthecurrent
channel—or,inSetupmodeandSongmode,bytheprogramonthe s pecifiedAuxEffects
channel.AuxoverrideallowsyoutoauditionandselectanewAuxchainwithouteditinga
program.InEffectsmode,
theSetupEditor,orSongmode,presstheAUXFX1orAUXFX2soft
buttonstosetoverridesforAuxChainselectionandotherAuxEffectsparameters.TheChain
specifiedfortheAuxoverrideisusedinsteadofthechainofthecurrentchannel(orinsteadof
thespecifiedAuxEffectschannel
inSetupandSongmode.)Also,sendlevelsandother
parametersnormallyspecifiedwithinindividualprogramscanbesettofixedvaluesontheAux
