Recording A Setup To Song Mode
TheMIDIoutputofasetupcanberecordedtoasonginSongmode.EachMIDIchannelthatis
outputfromasetupisrecordedintoeachtrackofasong(ifthetrackshavecorrespondingMIDI
channels.)Programsfromeachzoneofyoursetupareautomaticallyassignedtotracks
inSong
mode.Followthesestepsforproperrecordingofanewsongfromasetup:
1. EnterSongmodebypressingtheSongModebutton.
2. OntheSongmodeMAINpage,select0*NewSong*intheCurSngfieldbyentering0on
thealphanumericpadandpressingtheEnterbutton.This
loadsadefaultemptysongfile.
3. OntheSongmodeMAINpage,selectMultintheRecTrkfield.
4. PresstheSetupModebuttontoenterSetupModeandchoosethedesiredsetup.
5. PresstheleftandrightcursorbuttonssimultaneouslytoreachtheTEMPOPage.Entera
tempobytappingtheTap
softbuttonorenteratempointheTempofield.Whenyouare
finished,presstheDonesoftbuttontoreturntotheSetu pmodemainpage.
6. PresstheRecordbuttonandthenthePlay/Pausebuttontobeginrecording.The
metronomewillcountoff1barandthenrecordingwillbegin
(youcansetmetronomeand
otherrecordingsettingsinSongmode.)
7. PresstheStopbuttontostoprecording.Youwillseetheusua lSongmodesavechanges
dialogwhereyoucanreview,retry,orsaveyoursong(seeTheSaveChanges
Dialog on page 12‐8.)
8. Aftersavingyoursong,youwillbereturned
totheSongmodeMAINpage,whereyour
savedsongwillbeloaded.YoucancontinuetorecordoreditthesonginSongmodejust
asyouwouldwithany othersong(seeSongModeandtheSongEditor on page 12‐1.)Each
programfromeachzoneinyoursetupis
automaticallyassignedtoatrack(changethe
RecTrkparameterinordertorecordtoasingletrack.)Youcanalsocontinuetorecord
fromSetupmodebygoingbacktostep3,ab ove.Remembertosetthetempo(step5
above)beforerecording,asthesongtempowillchangeifyour
setupissavedwitha
differenttempo.

Tempo:ThetempoofasetupissetontheSetupMode:COMMONpage(seeTheCOMMON
Page on page 7 ‐65.)Ifyouplantorecordasongfromthesamesetupseveraltimes,itis
convenienttosetyourdesiredtempoontheSetupMode:COMMONpage
andsaveitwithyour
setup.Bydoingthis,youwillnotneedtoresetyoursetuptempotothedesiredsongtempo
everytimeyouloadyoursetup(asinstep5,above.)
Riffs:IfyouareusingRiffsinyoursetup,dothefollowingtomakeeachRiffplay
atyoursetup’s
tempo(whichalsobecomesyoursong’stempo.)Foreachzonethathasariff,gotothe
SetupMode:RIFF2page(seeTheRIFF2Page on page 7‐58)andsettheBPMparametertoSetup.
RemembertosavechangestoyoursetupwhenexitingtheSetupEditor.
Effects:Whenrecordinga
setupintoSongmode,thesongwillnotretaintheAuxorMaster
effectssettingsofyoursetup.Ifyouwouldlikeyoursongtousethesameeffectsasyoursetup,
copythesettingsofyoursetup’sFX,AUX1,AUX2,andMASTEREFFECTSpagestotheFX,
AUX1,AUX2,and
MasterEffectspagesinyoursong.Alternatively,playingyoursongfrom
setupmodewillallowyoutoheartheeffects.Todothis,loadyoursong,presstheSetupMode
buttontoenterSetupmodeandchooseyoursetup,thenpressthePlay/Pausebutton.Thiswill
playyoursongfrom
Setupmode,andtheeffectswillbeintact.
