SimultaneousmakestheArpeggiatorlatcheachnoteyouplayandrepeatitintimewiththe
Tempovalue,sortoflikeadigitaldelaywithnodecay.IfyouplayaCandholditwhileyouplay
anEandaG,theArpeggiatorwillplayallthreenotesat
thesametimeandatthesametempo.
SimultaneousalsoworkswellwithShiftandLimit,allowingyoutoshiftmultiplenotes
simultaneously.
Duration
Durationdetermineshowlongeacharpeggiatednoteplays.100%meansthatanotesustains
untilthenextonesounds—verylegato.50%meansthatthenotefillshalf
thespacebetween
itselfandthenextnote.Thelowestvalueis1%—stacattissimo.Thisparameterhasnoeffecton
percussionsoundsorothersoundswhosedurationisfixed.
Velocity
Velocitysetsthe attackvelocityoftheplayednotes.WithVelocitysettoFirst,allnotesplayat
thevelocityof
thefirstplayednote.WithVelocitysettoPlayed,eachnoterepeatswiththesame
velocityyouplayeditat.WithVelocitysettoLast,allnotesplayatthevelocityofthemost
recentlyplayednote.WithVelocitysettoAftertouch,thevelocitiesarecontrolledbykeyboard
pressure:
asyouholdandpushdownonanykey,thevelocitiesgethigher,andasyoueaseup
theygetlower.
WithVelocitysettoMIDI109,MIDIcontroller109continuallysetsthearpeggiatorvelocity.This
workswellwhenMIDIcontroller109issettoaknoborexpressionpedal.
WithVelocitysettoFixed,allnotesplaywiththesamevelocity.ThedefaultFixedvelocityis
100.LikeMIDI109,Youcancontrolthisvelocityamountinreal‐timebyassigningacontroller
toVelFix ed,controllerdestinationnumberis175.Inputfromanyphysicalcontrollerassignedto
sendVelFixed
(oranyentryvalueforacontrollerassignedtosendVelFixed)overridesthe
programmedvalueoftheVelocityparameter,disablingituntilyouselectadifferentsetup(orin
Programmode,untilyouselectadifferentcontrolsetupontheMIDI‐modeTRANSMITpage).
Patternengagesastepsequencerforarpeggiator
velocitypa tterns,whichshiftsthevelocityof
eacharpeggiatednoteaccordingtoasequencedpattern.Thereare74preprogramedvelocity
patternsthatyoucanchoosefromtheVelPattfield,someofwhichcreaterhythmsbyusing
velocityvaluesof‐127or“none”toleaverestsinthearpeggiation.The
sequencerusesthe
velocityreceivedfromthefirstnoteplayedasthecenterpositiontoshiftvelocitiesupordown
from.Ifnootherkeysareplaying,patternswillstartovereachtimeakeyispressed(thereare
someexceptionstothiswhenusingARPEGGIATORLatchparametersotherthan“Keys,”
thougha
newlytriggeredpatternwillalwaysstartatstep1.)Whentriggeringvelocitypatternsfrommore
thanonekeyatatime,eachconsecutivestepofthepatternshiftsthevelocityfromadifferent
inputtedkey,theorderofwhichisdecidedbytheorderparameterontheARPEGGIATOR
page.
Note:Forpatternswithnegativevelocityvalues,ifthevelocityofthefirstplayednoteislowenoughthat
apatternstepcouldresultinavelocityofzero,somenotesmayhaveavelocityofzeroandtherefore
producenosound.
Youcanedittheincludedpatternsbypressing
“Edit”withapatternhighlightedintheVel Patt
field(seeeditscreenbelow.)Thetoplineofthe“EditVelocityPatt”pagedisplaysthepattern’s
nameandtotalnumberofsteps.Thispagealsoshowsthefullnameforapatternwhosename
doesnotfitontheARPEGGIATORpage.Eachpattern
canhaveupto48steps,andeachstep
canshiftvelocitiesby±127steps.Youcaninsertastepwithavalueof“none”byentering‐127
andthenshiftingdownonemorestep.Astepwiththevalue“none”causesthearpeggiatorto
playnothingforthat
step,allowingyoutocreate rhythmicpatternsbyusing“none”toleave
spaces.PressingStep‐removesthelaststepinthelist,pressingStep+insertsanewvelocitystep
attheendofthelist(thepatterneditorremembersthevaluesofremovedstepsuntilyousaveor
exit.)Usethe
cursortomovebetweenpatternsteps,usethealphawheel,alphanumericpad,or
plus/minusbuttonstoenterthevelocityshi ftamountforeachstep.PressMoretoseeasecond
pageforpatternswithmorethan24steps.
