EntryVolume enablesyoutocontroltheinitialMIDIvolumesettingforeachzoneofthecurrent
setup.WhenyouselectasetupinSetu pmode,MIDIchannelsforzonesthathaveanEntry
VolumevalueotherthanNonewillreceivethatvalueasaMIDIvolumecontrolmessage(MIDI
Controller
07.)Thissetsthestartingvolumelevelforeachzone.SubsequentMIDIvolume
controlsignalssenttothesetup’sMIDIchannels affectthevolumenormally.
Whenyouexitthecurrentsetup,eachzonesendsanothervolumecontrolmessage(MIDI
Controller07)tosetthevolumesonthePC3K’sMIDIchannels,according
tothevalueoftheExit
Volum eparameter(unlessExitVolumeissettoNone.)ThesettingoftheVolumeLock
parameterontheMIDImodeCHANNELSpage(seeChapter 10)determineswhetherthis
parameterhasanyeffect.

YoucansetentryandexitvaluesforPanaswell.Whenyouselectasetup,thePC3Ksendsa
MIDIpancontrol(MIDIController10)messageoneachMIDIChannelineachzone;another
MIDIpancontrolmessageissentwhenyouexitthesetup.TheEntryandExitvalues
forPanare
thesameasthose forVolume.ThereisalsoaPanLockparameterontheMIDI‐mode
CHANNELSpage,whichoverridestheSetupEditor’sPansettings.
IfyouaretryingtosetthePanandtheprogramdoesn’tseemtoberesponding,youshould
checktheModeparameter
ontheOUTPUTpageintheProgramEditor.IfitissettoFixed,then
thePC3KisignoringtheMIDIPanmessage;settingModeto+MIDIallowsyoutocontrolthe
program’spanningfromtheSetupEditor.
Mostprogramsrespondtopanmessagesonthenextkeystrike.Thismeans
thatifyouholda
noteandchangethepan,thecurrentnotewillstayatitscurrentpositionuntilyoustrikeit
again.However,aPC3KprogramthatusesthePANNERalgorithmwillrespondtoreal‐time
panadjustmentsaswell.
