8.6 Event log
Figure 71: Screen ‘Event log’
In the menu Event log the NetTEST II analyses the data traffic
between DP Master and DP Slaves and shows all changes of
the communication state for every DP Slave. The Event log is
depicted in the form of a table. The columns are described as
follows:
ADD
- Station address
- ADD? – upon request by DP Master an error
telegram occurred
DATA
- OK – DP Slave is in state DATA_EXCHANGE
- NR – No Response, DP Slave is not responding
TRY
- DP Slave needs more than 1 request by the DP
Master
CFG
- DP Slave was parameterised or configured
DIA
- Diagnostic messages occur at the DP Slave
Normally, a correctly configured DP Slave connected to the DP
Master indicates the status "OK – data exchange". During long-
term operation the PROFIBUS network all specific changes of
the network can be monitored. Even DP Slaves of the DP
Master not yet configured but nevertheless part of the livelist,
are displayed. By means of the key the event log can be
reset. The event log is updated by pressing the key or after
expiration of the adjusted event update time (see chapter 8.9).
