6 Communication with a PC
The communication with a PC for the functions
Receive GSD File (see chapter 5.2.4.2), Load / send parame-
ter data set (see chapter 5.2.3.4 and 5.2.3.5), Firmware Update
(see chapter 5.2.3.7) and Send Test Protocol (see chapter
5.2.2.4) is made by means of a terminal program via the PC’s
COM interface. With the Microsoft operating systems
Windows 3.x, 95/98/NT/2000/XP it is the HyperTerminal
made by Hilgraeve, which is part of delivery. Below please
find the necessary settings for the communication with
NetTEST II.
6.1 Characteristics of HyperTerminal

After having started HyperTerminal, the connection must be
made directly to one of the PC’s serial interfaces via
File-Properties. These are usually COM1 or COM2. If
available, any other free COM interface can be used.
