Today, more than ever, quickness and flexibility are in great demand in the different areas of application of the
automation industry. The DF PROFI II, a high performance PROFIBUS DP/DPV1 board from KUNBUS, exceeds these
requirements. As PCI, PCI-Express and CompactPCI card, the DF PROFI II is suitable for a wide variety of uses. Due
to the fact that both 5 V and 3.3 V are supported, the board is compliant to fast server PCs as well as workstations.
DF PROFI II operates as DP Master or
DP Slave. Additionally to the standard
PROFIBUS DP/DPV1 services the board
provides a watchdog function with
physical PROFIBUS line disconnection for
Master class 1 redundancy concepts. If the
operational PC system fails, a seamless
switch over to a redundant standby system
is possible.
The process data image additionally
provides a millisecond based relative time
stamp value. The PROFIBUS configuration
data is stored in a failsafe Flash Type
Memory.
CONFIGURATOR III is available for the
compilation and download of the
PROFIBUS configuration. The comfortable
and full graphical tool minimises the
configuration effort. Extensive download,
analysis and control functions permit
an efficient check up of the configured
PROFIBUS DP network. The compiled
configuration is stored in XML format. This
allows an easy integration into third party
applications.
Drivers for all current operating systems
are available for the DF PROFI II board.
Additional packages, such as OPC Server,
LabVIEW™ PROFIBUS VISA Driver or
FDT 1.2 COM DTM significantly extend the
board‘s field of application.
REDUNDANT OPC SERVER
The Data Access OPC Server based on the
free threading-/multi-threading concept
for an optimum performance supports
DPV0 Master class 1 and DPV1 Master
class 2 services. The OPC Server supports
a DPV0 Master class 1 redundancy concept
with two identical PC systems for the use
with safety critical applications.

equips National Instruments

LabVIEW™
with a real-time PROFIBUS DP connection.
The installation in a classical PC system
under LabVIEW™ for Windows is just as
possible as in a real-time PXI system under
LabVIEW™ RT, e.g. as a high performance
PAC system for time-critical test applications
or industrial automation applications.
FDT 1.2 COMMUNICATION DTM
The available FDT 1.2 Communication
DTM allows the use of the DF PROFI II
within any FDT 1.2 compatible container
application. As a PROFIBUS DP Master
class 2, the board can configure any DP
Slave.
