MAINTENANCE WORK ON CHASSIS AND ENGINE 104

– Insert the brake pads, insert the bolt and mount the split pin.
– Operate the foot brake lever repeatedly until the brake linings lie on the brake disc and
there is a pressure point.
– Add brake fluid to the MAX mark.
Brake fluid DOT 4 / DOT 5.1 ( p. 181)
– Mount the screw cap with the membrane.
Info
Clean up overflowed or spilt brake fluid immediately with water.
9.44Removing front wheel x
– Jack up the rear of the motorcycle. ( p. 63)
– Jack up the front of the motorcycle. ( p. 62)

– Remove screw  and spacing sleeve .
– Press back the brake linings with a light lateral tilting of the brake caliper on the brake
disc. Pull the brake caliper carefully back from the brake disc and hang it to one side.

Do not pull the handbrake lever when the brake caliper is removed.
