Always clean barrels starting from the chamber to avoid damages to the muzzle.
Store oiled barrels always with the muzzle pointing down to avoid that contaminated oil
penetrates the internal mechanism of the gun causing malfunctions.
Before loading the gun, always check that the barrels are free of any obstructions.
The bores and chambers must be dry and free of oil.
Rifle accuracy and consistant groups can only be achieved when the bores are dry, and free of oil
and grease which is also particularly important for the chambers. Oil and grease residues in the bore and
importantly also in the chamber will definitely have an adverse affect on rifle accuracy
as tests by independent laboratories, for example DEVA, conclusively proved.

with removeable sideribs:
Every time the sideribs become moist or wet during field use, they should be removed and dried using a rag and then be
slightly oiled.
Model Plus: Loosen hex screw as shown on illus.10 and remove the siderib. Be careful not to scratch the barrels.
Model Ultra: The sideribs are fastened to the three-point adjustment fixture via hex screws located on the side.
Note that there are two hex screws behind each other for countering reasons.
Therefore, the first hex screw must be completely removed in order to loosen the holding screw for the
sideribs. Loosen the holding screw slightly and remove the sideribs. Be careful not to scratch the barrels.
For maintenance after normal use and provided the gun did not get wet, it is sufficient to run a slightly oiled rag between the
sideribs and rifle barrel as shown on illus.11.
4. Barrel recesses and barrel lugs
Keep barrel recesses and barrel lugs clean and slightly greased.
