4 Installing in a Rack This section provides instructions for rack mounting the unit.
5 Connecting the VM-4DP i Always switch off the power to each device before connecting it to your VM-4DP. After connecting your VM-4DP, connect its power and then switch on the power to each device. To connect the VM-4DP as illustrated in the example in Figure 3: 1. Connect a DP source (for example, a computer graphics source) to the DP INPUT connector. 2. Connect the DP output connectors (not all the outputs need to be connected), to up to four DP acceptors (for example, displays). 3.
6 Acquiring an EDID The VM-4DP initially operates with the default EDID. This means that you can turn ON the power before connecting any of the acceptors or the source. You can acquire the EDID from: 6.1 The default EDID, see Section 6.1 A connected output, see Section 6.2 Acquiring the Default EDID To acquire the default EDID, do the following: 1. Press the SELECT button, as required, to reach a disconnected output. The selected output LED flashes. 2. Press the READ button.
7 Upgrading the Firmware For instructions on upgrading the firmware see “Upgrading the VM-4DP Firmware Using the STC Software”.
