1. Headphone( )jack[frontofSP-280]:The stereo mini plug of headphones can be
inserted into this jack. The same sound from the headphone jack on the back of the
SP-280 will be produced. When the headphone plug is inserted, no sound will be
produced from the speakers.
2. Powerbuon:This buon turns the SP-280 on or o.
3. VOLUMEKnob:Adjusts the volume for the speakers, the Output and the Phones
connectors.
4. PIANOSONGbuon/LED:This buon is used to enter the Piano song mode, af-
ter which the LED lights up. Simultaneously pressing this buon and the TRANS-
POSE buon enters the Sound demo song mode.
5. TRANSPOSEbutton/LED:This button is used to adjust transposition. While
transposing, the LED lights up. Simultaneously pressing this buon and the PIA-
NO SONG buon enters the Sound demo song mode.
6. FUNCTIONbuon/LED:This buon is used to enter the Function mode, where
pitch, temperament and other seings can be specied. Hold down the buon to
enter the MIDI function mode, where MIDI settings can be specified. The LED
lights up when the SP-280 enters the Function mode and blinks when it enters the
MIDI function mode.
7. TOUCHbuon:This buon lets you select the keyboard sensitivity.
8. BRILLIANCEbuon:This buon is used to adjust the brightness of the tone.
9. REVERBbuon/LED:This buon is used to turn on/o the reverb, which adds
ambience to the sound. When turned on, the LED lights up.
10. CHORUSbuon/LED:This buon is used to turn on/o the chorus, which adds
richness to the sound. When turned on, the LED lights up.
11. BANKbuon/LEDs:This buon is used to select the desired sound bank. The
LED for the bank that’s currently selected will light up.
12. Soundbuons:This buon is used to select from 30 sounds (10 × 3 banks). Two
buons can be pressed to play two sounds simultaneously (Layer mode).
