The metronome
The SP-280 is equipped with a metronome, which can be changed to a bell
sound convenient for practicing.
Turning on/off the metronome
Press the METRONOME button. The LED lights up, and the metronome
starts.
To stop the metronome, press the METRONOME button again. The LED
turns o.
Specifying the tempo
When the tempo appears in the display (default seing of 120), regardless of
whether the metronome is turned on or o, the tempo can be specied with
the UP and DOWN buons beside the display.
The seing range is

= 40
–
240.
To return to the default setting, simultaneously press the UP and DOWN
buons.
Selecting the time signature
1. HolddowntheMETRONOMEbuttonuntiltheMetronomesettings
modeisentered.
The METRONOME LED blinks, and the LED for the PIANO1 sound but-
ton lights up.
In addition, the time signature appears in the display.
When the Metronome seings mode is entered, the time signature
seing normally appears.
2. ToselectthetimesignatureaerchangingotherseingsintheMetro-
nomeseingsmode,pressthePIANO1buon.
3. SelecttheseingwiththeUPorDOWNbuonbesidethedisplay.
The seing range consists of 02 (2/4), 03 (3/4), 04 (4/4) and 06 (6/4); the de-
fault seing is 04.
To return to the default seing, simultaneously press the UP and DOWN
buons.

Adjusting the metronome volume
1. HolddowntheMETRONOMEbuttonuntiltheMetronomesettings
modeisentered.
2. PressthePIANO2buon,andthevolumewillappearinthedisplay.
3. SpecifytheseingwiththeUPorDOWNbuonbesidethedisplay.
The seing range is 1–13; the default seing is 10.
To return to the default setting, simultaneously press the UP and
DOWN buons.
4. PresstheMETRONOMEbuontoexittheMetronomeseingsmode.
