UseDriveSelecttoselectthedesireddrive,whichcan
beeitheraninternaldiskoraUSBstoragedevice.
Then,usetheOpenorUpbuttonstomovetothe
desiredfolderlev el,andusetheNameparameterat
thetopofthewindowtospecifyanameforthesample
file.PresstheDonebuttontoconfirmthesettings
you’vemade.
Whilethisdialogisopen,youcanalsoauditionthe
selectedWAVEfilebypressingtheon‐screenPlay
buttonorthefront‐panelSA
MPLINGST
ART/STOP
switch.Tostopplayback,eitherpresstheSAMPLING
START/STOPswitchagain,ortouchtheon‐screen
Stopbutton.

Inordertomaintainheadroom,theKRONOS
generallyplaysbacksamples12dBsofterthanthe
originalvolume(if+12dBisoff).Thisisappropriate
forsoundswhichwillbepla

Fordrumloopsandsimilarmaterial,ontheother
hand,youmaywishtoplaybackthedataatthesame
levelatwhichitwassampled.Inthiscase,turnonthe
+12dBparameter(SamplingP2–LoopEditpage).

Sample to Disk (Bit Depth)
WhenSaveToissettoDisk,youcanchoosetorecord
ateither16‐bitor24‐bitresolution.
WhenSaveToissettoRAM,theresolutionisfixedat
16‐bit.
Optimizing RAM memory
Optimizationrearrangesanyunusedmemoryareasso
thatalloftheremainingmemorycanbeused,which
mayincreasetheamountofRAMavailablefor
sampling.Thisoptimizationcanhappeneither
manuallyorautomatically.
