Enabling/disabling control change transmission/
reception ltering
This lets you transmit damper pedal signals and other
data from the LP-380 to control a MIDI application run-
ning on your computer, or control the LP-380 as it receives
said data from the MIDI application on your computer.
To transmit/receive control change messages, disable this
function(oFF:defaultseing).Tonottransmit/receivethe
messages, enable this function (on).
Enter the MIDI function mode, and then press the
E.PIANO2 buon.
TheE.PIANO2soundbuonlightsup,andtheseing
(oFF) appears in the display.
Using the LP-380 as a multi-timbral sound module
The 16-part multi-timbral sound generator on the LP-380
can be controlled and played from a MIDI application on
your computer.
1. Connect the USB port on the LP-380 to your computer
with a USB cable.
2. Transmit MIDI data from the sequencer or other ap-
plication on the connected computer.
Fordetailsontransmiingdatafromthesequenceror
other MIDI device, refer to its users manual.
3. When the LP-380 receives the program change message
along with the performance data, it will play with the
sound corresponding to that program number.
If the LP-380 is not to be used as a multi-timbral sound
module, disable this function (oFF).
Enter the MIDI function mode, and then press the
HARPSI/CLAV buon.
The HARPSI/CLAV sound button lights up, and the
seing(on:defaultseing)appearsinthedisplay.
Enabling/disabling program change transmis-
sion/reception ltering
You can send MIDI program change numbers from the LP-
380 to change programs on MIDI applications that are run-
ning on the computer that you have connected. Also, the
LP-380 can receive MIDI program change numbers sent
from a MIDI application running on the computer you
have connected, to change programs on the LP-380.
This will not change the sound you hear when playing
the keyboard of the LP-380.
For program change numbers and their corresponding
sounds, refer to “Table of sounds and corresponding pro-
gram change numbers” below.
To transmit/receive program change messages, disable this
function(oFF:defaultseing).Tonottransmit/receivethe
messages, enable this function (on).
Enter the MIDI function mode, and then press the
E.PIANO1 buon.
TheE.PIANO1soundbuonlightsup,andtheseing
(oFF) appears in the display.
Transmiing program changes
When a sound is selected using the sound buttons and
BANKbuonontheLP-380,thecorrespondingMIDIpro-
gramchangenumberistransmied.
Receiving program changes
When the LP-380 receives a MIDI program change num-
ber, the sound is changed to the corresponding number.
If an incompatible program change number is re-
ceived, the LP-380 sound is not changed.
