Introduction & Overview Overview of Digital StoreFront Digital StoreFront is a web-based print service application and transaction server that enables print providers to serve their customers via a full-featured Intranet and/or Internet presence conveniently available 24/7 from any location.
Digital StoreFront 5.2 Administration Reference Change the Initial System Account Passwords The system has two pre-defined accounts with the following login credentials: ● Administrator Username: administrator Password: administrator • Operator Username: operator Password: operator WARNING After installing Digital StoreFront, it is strongly recommended that you change the default password for the administrator account by following the steps below: 1.
Chapter 1: Platform Settings Platform Settings: General Site Configuration Platform settings control the way your site behaves. Use the Platform Settings to set up and maintain your site. When setting up your system for the first time, it is important to complete these tasks in the order presented in the Getting Started Quick Reference. Important First-time configuration: For best results do not enter any data on the site before completing the tasks in this section.
Digital StoreFront 5.2 Administration Reference Site Settings – Basic Settings Tab The Basic Settings tab is where you will configure: • • • • • • • • Site Administrative Address—specifies administrative information about the site. Session TimeOut—to specify how long a user’s login session will remain open after the last user activity. File Expiration—to specify how long files remain in the system.
Platform Settings ● Enable Relational Branding Category Security—to enable the category security feature that limits category view and purchase permissions to users associated with a particular company (either as company users or as site visitors to company-branded sites). ● Calculate rush jobs as time ahead of the standard delivery date for a regular job—to calculate the rush order job delivery date as time ahead of the regular (non-rush order) delivery date. Digital StoreFront 5.2 Administration Reference 1. In the File Expiration: Delete Files After section, enter the number of minutes after which this site should time out. WARNIING Changing this setting will affect the shopping cart and buyers’ saved jobs, and, if set too low, can cause the system to delete job files unexpectedly. File expiration should be long enough to provide customers with enough time to place orders with the uploaded file.
Platform Settings PDF Job Submission This setting preserves the original PDF files included in a job that contains two or more PDF files. This enables operators to view/download the original PDF files (before they were merged) from the production job ticket in the Operator View. The merged file will be available for viewing as well. 1. In the PDF Job Submission section, check the box Show original files in Production Job Ticket (for merged PDFs). 2. Click Save Changes.
Digital StoreFront 5.2 Administration Reference If the Show Default Print Shop to Anonymous Users option is not checked (i.e., anonymous users are not allowed to see Print Shop details in the Shopping Cart), for the functionality to work as designed make sure that the "Everyone" group does not have Print Shops access on the Page Access page. This option will either allow or not allow anonymous users to see Print Shop details in the Shopping Cart.
Platform Settings With Cybersource: If the order amount is changed (i.e., increased so that it is greater than what was authorized), the capture will fail. For example, if $10 was authorized and you adjust the order total to $12.50 to cover actual shipping costs, the capture will fail, the transaction will be declined, and the order will have to be canceled and re-ordered.

For example, say you have two relational branded sites—one for Company A and another for Company B. Each company has different product offerings. You do not want customers of Company A to see products offered to customers of Company B (and vice versa). The remedy is to restrict product category access (e.g.

On the Site-Level or Company-Level Email Notifications page, in the Email Messages panel, click the name of the email notification you want to change (in the Description column ): If you are editing company-level email notifications a Use Site Level Settings checkbox will be available.

This enables you to customize the email message in any supported language without having to do so on the Language Management page. • From Name: Enter the sender name for this email notification.

Platform Settings Email Server Settings If you do not have a dedicated email server for corresponding with buyers, you can specify an email server (such as Gmail or Yahoo!) to send email correspondence to external recipients from Digital StoreFront. If you need help setting up your SMTP server, see To set up the local SMTP server below. To specify an email server for sending external email messages 1. Click the Edit button. 2.

Add the address 127.0.0.1 to the list of Computers and verify that the radio button marked Only the list below is selected. 6. Click OK. 7. Return to the main email server settings page.
Platform Settings Control Description This displays the text in the workspace without any formatting controls. • Send To: Select recipient(s) for the email message. Expand the tree to locate the Company, Department, or User to send the email message to. If you select the Company or Department, all users registered to that company will receive the email message.
Digital StoreFront 5.2 Administration Reference Email Notifications Email notifications exist at two levels in Digital StoreFront—at the site level and at the company level. You will access the Company-Level Email Notifications page from the Manage Company page.

To change your sender email settings Here you specify the default name and email from which all site-level notifications are sent. To enable/disable site-level email notifications Digital StoreFront enables you to disable any of the site-level email notifications to suit your business needs. ● To disable an email notification, click the The ● in the Enabled column. button indicates that the notification is enabled.

Digital StoreFront 5.2 Administration Reference If you select this option, the HTML rich text editor will open. You will have the option of using the rich-text editor in Design mode (using the familiar controls of a word processor such as Microsoft Word) or in HTML mode mode. You can also preview the notification before saving it to see how your formatting options will look to the recipient.

Click Edit in the New User Registration Notification Recipient field. 2. Enter the email address of the administrator who will be notified when a new user registers. 3. Click Update. Be sure to enter the email address in a valid format such as administrator@printco.com with the email recipient name followed by the @ symbol followed by the domain.
Site Settings - Distillation Settings Site Configuration—Distillation Settings Tab Overview of Distillation Settings This tab is where you can configure the settings of the PrintMessenger print driver through which buyers can submit files to your site directly from the File > Print menu in an application such as MS Word or Adobe PhotoShop. Buyers can download the PrintMessenger driver from your site’s storefront home page.

Font substitution occurs when a font is requested that is either not built-in to PrintMessenger nor in the job itself. MAX_JOBS Number in range of 0 to 4,294,967,295 When running in server mode, this is the maximum number of jobs that can be run (0 means no maximum).

See Also • Customizing the PrintMessenger Print Driver Site Settings - Imaging Settings Site Configuration—Imaging Tab Overview of Imaging Settings The settings on this page govern (a) the display of watermark images on preview files and (b) the location of images used to represent the categories and products on your site’s storefront.
Platform Settings 4. Watermark Mode: It is strongly recommended that you use the Automatic mode. • • Automatic: This is the recommended mode. In this mode, the position of the watermark is calculated automatically from the actual size of the first page of the document. The position is a diagonal line across the page where the watermark is added. This ensures that the watermark will always show on the page. Manual: This is the default mode.

Opacity: Specifies the degree of transparency (in decimals; e.g., .5 = 50% opacity) for the watermark image. 4.
Platform Settings Imaging: Category and Product Images Category and product images can be stored on a different (non-Digital StoreFront) web server. The virtual directory must be mapped to the physical directory. If you change the physical directory, you will have to move the directory manually to the new location or image links will be broken. Site Settings - Unit System Site Configuration—Unit System Tab Overview of Unit System Settings The Unit System tab is where you will define the unit system (measurement standard for length and weight). Each country has a different standard for measuring units of weight and physical dimensions. For instance, the United States is on the US System, most of Europe is on the System International, and the United Kingdom is on the Imperial System.
Platform Settings If a buyer orders a product in a given unit system (e.g., US System) and the print shop is set for UK (Imperial) System, the dimensions the Operator will see on the job ticket will be in US System (the buyer's unit system) to ensure that the buyer receives the product in the dimensions he or she specified. 2. Site Settings - User Profile Fields Settings Overview of the User Profile Fields Tab The User Profile Fields tab is where you can configure the fields that are visible and/or required for user contact information, registration, address book entries, and print shop and company contacts. What are User Profile Fields settings for? When should you use them? Specifying the fields that are visible and/or required for user contact information.
Platform Settings Note on the Unit System setting: The unit system can be set at four levels in Digital StoreFront: ● Site level (in Site Settings) ● Print Shop level ● Company level ● Buyer level A unit system is the weight and dimension standard in use for media sizes and product weight and dimensions, etc. The lowest level that has a unit system set will be used for a given buyer (user).

Platform Settings Site Settings - Directory Services Authentication Tab Site Configuration—Directory Services Authentication Tab Overview of Directory Services Authentication Directory Services is a licensable option that can be used to authenticate users and verify the Guest identity via a protocol: LDAP, ADSI, NDS, or NWCOMPAT. The authentication depends on the user name, password, and directory service name supplied by the guest user.
Digital StoreFront 5.2 Administration Reference Self Registration Self registration can be enabled to allow site visitors to create a user profile themselves. Administrative Registration ● ● Administrators can add new users to the system through the administrative User Management interface. What Authentication is Doing Behind the Scenes ● User provides a username and password to Digital StoreFront. (After CSV with LDAP name has been uploaded.
Platform Settings What Digital StoreFront LDAP Authentication does NOT do ● Verify what level of access a user has in Digital StoreFront based on their privileges on the LDAP server. ● Ensure that the Digital StoreFront user database is synchronized with the LDAP user database ● Automatically populate the Digital StoreFront user database with user and privilege information from the LDAP user database.
Digital StoreFront 5.2 Administration Reference In short, the features preappend the LDAP to a directory bind and the LDAP user’s name is used with the password that is entered to do the bind. A typical example would be: myuniversity.com. LDAP user’s name: Mike Password: Test.

It uses only the ‘LDAP name’ value that is associated with the Digital StoreFront profile and the password of the person logging in. Y(Default) FastBind Specifies that ADSI will not attempt to query the Active Directory objectClass property. Therefore, only the base interfaces that are supported by all ADSI objects will be exposed. Other interfaces that the object supports will not be available.

Platform Settings The data structure storing user information in the system now includes a Single Sign On ID field. This field can contain a unique ID value that matches a unique ID value in the customer’s user database(s). When this ID is passed (via form post) to the a special page (signin.aspx) which then bypasses the system’s login page; it matches the ID within the system user table and logs in as that user. In addition, a password can be included for an additional level of security.
Digital StoreFront 5.2 Administration Reference Initial setup In the initial setup, users must be bulk imported into Digital StoreFront to synchronize the user information between Digital StoreFront and the customer’s external user management database. Connecting the Customer’s System to Digital StoreFront As mentioned above, the customers system must have a web page that passes the login credentials.
