If the DocBuilder Pro option is installed and Adobe Acrobat 4.0 was installed after the
Command WorkStation, two problems may occur:
Page sizes may not be correct
—If you impose a document with a size other than the
default paper size (as specified in Fiery Z4 Setup), the document previews and prints on the
default paper size. To resolve the problem, move the file Startup.ps from the Cstation folder
to the Startup folder of Adobe Distiller.
“Error imposing the selected job”
—This message appears if you attempt to use DocBuilder
Pro on a system that had Acrobat 4.0 installed after the Command WorkStation. To resolve
the problem, restart the Command WorkStation and Adobe Acrobat 4.0.
Images that are scanned from the copier using the Scan to DocBuilder function appear in
the Hold queue of Command WorkStation. These images can then be manipulated using
DocBuilder. For more information on DocBuilder, see the Job Management Guide .
The page size of scanned images appearing in the Command WorkStation Hold queue
displays as “Letter,” regardless of their actual size.
When you type “DOC” on the copier to activate the Scan to DocBuilder option, the
scanned job will only appear in the spool area of Command WorkStation and not in the
WebScan window.
Remove button
Allow approximately 20 seconds after you cancel a scan if you decide to use the Remove
button on the copier. This allows the scan process to complete. If you press Remove before
the scan process has completed, unexpected scan results may occur.
Auto Reset
You may experience unexpected behavior if you do not respond to the copier within a
period defined in the Auto Reset function. It is recommended that you select whether to set
the control panel setting to On or Off after a given period of time either after the copy cycle
has completed or after a key has been pressed. When On is selected, enter the time on the
10-key pad to activate this function. Time settings range from 1 to 9 minutes. See the
copier user manual for more information.
Auto Paper mode
Auto Paper mode cannot detect original A6, B6, or B5-R documents placed on the copier
glass, nor can it detect size B6 for original documents placed in the Auto Document Feeder
(ADF).
Do not initiate a scan while the Fiery Z4 is processing a print job, indicated by the blinking
Fiery Z4 activity light. The scan job may not produce expected results. For instance, the
scan job may produce Letter size scans only.
Images placed in the upper left corner of the copier glass do not scan correctly. To be sure to
scan the entire image, shift the image on the copier glass at least 1mm horizontally and
5mm vertically before scanning.
On the Internet Explorer 5.0 browser for the Mac OS, you cannot type alphanumeric
characters in the MailBox input box in Fiery WebScan upon opening it for the first time.
However, if you close Fiery WebScan and then reopen it, you will be able to type in the
MailBox input box.
