Maintenance
Clean the air conditioner and filters regularly to maximize performance and efficiency, and
prolong the unit’s life. Be sure to always unplug the air conditioner from the power outlet before
cleaning.
Air Filter Cleaning
The air filter should be checked at least once a month to see if cleaning is necessary. Trapped
particles in the filter can build up, preventing proper air flow and potentially resulting in an
accumulation of frost on the cooling coils. The air filter is located in a slot behind the Front Grille /
Air Intake Panel.
1. Find the Air Filter handle / tab, which is located at the top of the Front Grille
2. Grasp the filter with both hands and pull upward and outward.
3. Wash the filter using liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water. Rinse the filter thoroughly.
4. Gently shake excess water from the filter.
5. Be sure the filter is thoroughly dry before replacing it.
6. You may also gently clean the filter with a vacuum.
7. Re-insert the Air Filter.
Note: Winter Storage- If you plan to store the air conditioner during the winter, remove it carefully
from the window according to the installation instructions. Make sure to clean the unit thoroughly and
cover it with plastic or return it to the original carton.
Warning: Never use hot water over 40°C (104°F) to clean the air filter. Never attempt to operate
the unit without the air filter.
