Oil Recommendations
We recommend use of Kohler oils for best
performance. Other high-quality detergent
oils (including synthetic) of API (American
Petroleum Institute) service class CH-4 or
higher are acceptable. Select viscosity based
on air temperature at time of operation as
shown in table below.

Check Oil Level
Ensure engine oil level is between upper and
lower limit of dipstick (R). Add oil as necessary.
1. Remove dipstick (R) and wipe it.
2. Put back dipstick (R) then take it out again.
Visually check level, it must be between
upper limit of dipstick (R) & lower limit of
dipstick (R).
3. Fill if necessary using a funnel.
4. Put dipstick (R) back in place.
5. Check that there are no leaks.
6. Wipe off excess oil with a clean cloth.
Change Oil and Filter
NOTE: Drain engine oil into an approved
container. Never drain or spill engine
oil onto oor.
NOTE: If necessary, a second oil drain plug (T)
is available on other side of engine.
Change oil while engine is warm.
1. Clean area around oil ll cap (C). Remove oil
drain plug (T) and oil ll cap (C). Allow oil to
drain completely.
2. Reinstall oil drain plug (T).
3. With a hex key, remove oil lter holder
screws (U). Remove oil lter and discard it.
4. Clean oil lter holder and apply clean engine
oil onto oil lter joint.
5. Install new oil lter. Thread oil lter holder
screws (U) into oil lter holder and tighten.
6. Fill crankcase with new oil. Level should be
at top of indicator on dipstick (R).
7. Reinstall oil ll cap (C) and tighten securely.
8. Start engine; check for oil leaks. Stop engine;
correct leaks. Recheck oil level.
9. Dispose of used oil in accordance with local
ordinances.
Maintenance Instructions
All maintenance operations are to be carried out as described in maintenance table. Their
frequency is given for your information, for pumps operating with fuel or oil in accordance with
speci cations given in this manual.
If pump is used under extreme conditions, reduce interval between maintenance operations.
Maintenance Schedule
After rst 50 Hours of operation
Change oil and lter.
Every 250 Hours

Change oil and lter.
Clean or replace air cleaner.
Clean pump.
Every 500 Hours or Annually

Replace fuel lter (E).
Clean fuel tank.
Clean spark arrester.
Every 500 Hours

Set and clean injectors.
Have valve lash checked/adjusted.

Perform these procedures more frequently under severe, dusty, dirty conditions.
