Kofax Front-Office Server Administrator’s Guide for Lexmark MFPs How to Use This Guide Introduction This guide describes how to prepare a Lexmark multifunction peripheral (MFP) to work with Kofax Front-Office Server. After performing this procedure, you can upload profiles with shortcuts from Kofax Front-Office Server Administration Console whenever needed. Before continuing, refer to the Kofax Web site at www.kofax.com for supported models and application versions.

Kofax Front-Office Server Administrator’s Guide for Lexmark MFPs Summary of Features The following features are available with the Kofax Front-Office Server application for the Lexmark MFP. Management Through Kofax Front-Office Server Administration Console Kofax Front-Office Server Administration Console enables you to discover MFPs on the network, add and remove MFPs to and from Kofax Front-Office Server, and open the Lexmark Web page for the MFP.
Kofax Front-Office Server Administrator’s Guide for Lexmark MFPs Use the following procedures whenever you need to install an upgraded version of the Kofax Front-Office Server application. Preparing for the Installation Before installing the Kofax Front-Office Server application on the MFP, do the following: Install Kofax Front-Office Server. Connect the MFP to a network that is available to Kofax Front-Office Server.

When the installation is complete, Kofax Front-Office Server appears on the Installed Solutions page, under Installed Solutions. X To check that the Kofax Front-Office Server application has started 1 On the Kofax Front-Office Server Configuration page, click the Solutions tab. 2 On the Installed Solutions page, under State, make sure Running is indicated in the State column for Kofax Front-Office Server.

Use Kofax Front-Office Server Administration Console to make sure the MFP is added to Kofax Front-Office Server, and to create shortcuts and profiles to deploy on the MFP. Removing the Kofax Front-Office Server Application You can remove the Kofax Front-Office Server application when needed.
Kofax Front-Office Server Administrator’s Guide for Lexmark MFPs X To change the IP address or other configuration settings 1 Go to the Lexmark Web page by entering the URL for the MFP in your browser window. 2 Change the setting on the Kofax Front-Office Server Configure page. To do so, do the following: Under Installed Solutions, select Kofax Front-Office Server. On the Kofax Front-Office Server Configuration page, click Configure.
Kofax Front-Office Server Administrator’s Guide for Lexmark MFPs When you deploy profiles to the MFP with Kofax Front-Office Server Administration Console, make sure the MPF is turned on. If the MFP is not on when the profiles are deployed, a “connection error” appears. When the error occurs, turn on the MFP and deploy the profiles again.
