Chapter 1 Overview Introduction Ascent Capture Add-ins for Kofax Business Interaction Server extends Ascent Capture by enabling it to acknowledge customer documents as they are being processed in Ascent Capture and Ascent Xtrata Pro. There are two types of acknowledgements that you can send to customers: confirmations and notifications. A confirmation lets a customer know that a document has been received and is complete.

Document Confirmation/Notification Workflow Confirmations and notifications can optionally include the original customer document as an attachment. You can attach all file types when sending email responses but only supported TIFF file types when sending fax responses. Both confirmations and notifications utilize templates created in Kofax Template Designer.
Chapter 2 Configuring Parameters Introduction Ascent Capture Add-ins for Kofax Business Interaction Server enables operators to send confirmations for complete customer documents and notifications for incomplete customer documents. To facilitate these tasks, administrators must first configure Ascent Capture Add-ins for Kofax Business Interaction Server as follows: Assign the Business Interaction Server 1.

Configuring Parameters Configuring General Parameters Use the following procedure to configure the parameters for connecting Ascent Capture with Business Interaction Server. X To configure Business Interaction Server connection parameters 1 In the Ascent Capture Administration module, from the BIS menu, select Configuration. The Business Interaction Server - Ascent Capture Add-ins Configuration window appears. 2 Click the General Parameters tab.

The Business Interaction Server - Ascent Capture Add-ins Configuration window appears. 2 Click the Validation Parameters tab. 3 To add or edit the reason that a customer needs to resubmit a document, do the following: a Click Add to add a new reason to the list or select an existing reason and click Edit to modify it.

The reason name appears in the Reason list box, and the text that will be sent to the customer appears beneath it.
Chapter 2 4 Batch class - sends the batch class name parameter to Business Interaction Server For “Pass-through documents,” select the check box if you want the Ascent Capture Release module to include the original customer document with the confirmation or automatic notification. Chapter 3 Configuring Notifications Introduction Confirmations for complete customer documents are automatically sent when an Ascent Capture batch is released. Notifications for customer documents with missing information are sent by an operator while viewing the document in the Ascent Xtrata Pro Validation module. This chapter provides information for how you can customize Ascent Xtrata Pro Validation forms so that operators can send customer notifications regarding incomplete documents.
Chapter 3 X To assign the Xtrata Pro queues 1 From the Ascent Capture Administration module, in the Batch tab of the Definitions panel, right-click the batch class that you want to associate with the Ascent Xtrata Pro queue and select Properties. The Batch Class Properties window appears. 2 On the Queues tab, do the following: a Select the Xtrata Pro Server queue from the list of Available Queues and click Add. The Xtrata Pro Server queue appears in the list of Selected Queues.
Configuring Notifications a From the Tools menu, select Script Wizard. The Script Wizard for Validation Forms window appears. b From the Select Validation Event drop-down list box, select ButtonClicked. c In the View Generated Code field, click Select. The ButtonClicked event handler and notification button case code that appears in the field is selected. d Click Copy. The selected code is copied to the Script Code Designer. e Click Show Script. The Script Code window appears.
Chapter 3 8 Save the project. 9 In the Ascent Capture, synchronize the appropriate batch class with the Validation form that you customized in Ascent Xtrata Pro by completing the following steps: a From the Ascent Capture Administration module, in the Batch tab of the Definitions panel, right-click the batch class and select Synchronize Xtrata Pro Project. The Ascent Xtrata Pro - Synchronization Tool window appears. b Click Next Step. c Click Next Step. d Click Synchronize.
Chapter 4 How Operators Work with Notifications Introduction When operators discover that information is missing on a customer document in the Ascent Xtrata Pro Validation module, they will click the Validation form “Send Notification” button that you configured in Chapter 3. Once the button is clicked, the Business Interaction Server - Notification window appears, listing the “reasons” that you configured in Chapter 2 for notifying the customer.

Select a customer recipient email address or fax telephone number from the drop-down list box. Leave the field blank.
How Operators Work with Notifications If the appropriate reason does not appear in the Reason drop-down list box, in the Reason text box, type a reason. Note For system administrators: This reason statement provides the value for the ACCReason field on the associated template that you created in Kofax Template Designer.
