ADVANCED PHOTO SYSTEM FEATURES AVAILABLE WITH THIS CAMERA Triple format selection Double exposure protection (DEP) • You can take three different size pictures: Classic (C), Group/HDTV (H), and Panoramic (P) pictures from the same film cassette. The viewfinder frame changes to match each format selection. • You don’t need to worry about accidentally re-exposing your film. Your camera reads the Film Status Indicator (FSI) on the film cassette to prevent re-exposure.

ATTACHING THE STRAP LOADING THE BATTERY 1. Insert the shorter looped end of the strap behind the STRAP POST (8). This camera uses one 3-volt lithium KODAK KCR2 (or equivalent) Battery that supplies power for all camera operations. 2. Thread the longer end of the strap through the shorter loop. 3. Pull the strap tight. 1. Open the BATTERY DOOR (19). • Before you remove the old battery, turn the camera off. 2. Insert the battery into the chamber as shown. 3. Snap the battery door closed.
Power shut-off To save battery power, the camera will automatically go into a sleep mode if it is not operated for more than approximately 3 minutes. You can press any of the control buttons to awaken the camera. LOADING THE FILM You can load film into the camera with the camera ON or OFF. N 1. Turn the camera upside down and move the FILM-DOOR SWITCH (17) to open the FILM DOOR (15).
3. Close the film door to start the auto-film advance. The FRAME COUNTER (35) on the LCD PANEL (11) will show the number of frames remaining on the film cassette. TAKING PICTURES You can take Classic (C), Group/ HDTV (H)*, and Panoramic (P) pictures on the same film cassette. Your photoprocessing cost may be based on the format size(s) that you use to expose the film. 1. Press the ON/OFF BUTTON (2) to open the lens cover and to turn the camera ON. 2.
3. Frame your subject within the VIEWFINDER EYEPIECE (10). For a sharp picture, stand at least 1.3 ft (0.4 m) from your subject. 4. Partially depress the SHUTTER BUTTON (1). When the FLASH/ CAMERAREADYLAMP (9) glows green, fully depress the shutter button to take the picture (see table for Flash/ warning-lamp signals). Using the focus lock This camera automatically focuses on whatever is within the auto-focus (AF) circle of the viewfinder eyepiece.
2. Partially depress and hold the SHUTTER BUTTON (1) to lock the focus position. 3. While still partially depressing the shutter button, move the camera until your subject is where you want it within the VIEWFINDER EYEPIECE (10). In dim light, such as indoors or outdoors in heavy shade, or on dark overcast days, you need flash. Your camera features an automatic flash that fires when you need it. 1. SELECTING THE FLASH AND INFINITY-FOCUS MODES Besides the auto-flash with red-eyereduction mode, you can select auto-flash without red-eye reduction, fill flash, flash off, nightview, and infinity-focus modes.

Flash off OFF Night-view When you do not want to use the flash, especially indoors where flash is prohibited, such as in theaters and museums, or when you want to take twilight scenes or distant subjects that are beyond the flash range, or capture the ambiance of existing light, use the flash-off feature. Use a tripod or place the camera on another firm support, and use high-speed film because the shutter speed in these situations will most likely be slow.
Infinity focus In this mode, you can capture sharp, distant scenery when you take pictures outdoors. 1. Press the ON/OFF BUTTON (2) to open the lens cover and to turn the camera ON. 2. Press the SELECT/FLASH BUTTON (20) repeatedly until the INFINITY-FOCUS INDICATOR (31) appears on the LCD PANEL (11). 3. Frame your subject within the VIEWFINDER EYEPIECE (10). 4. DATE AND TIME IMPRINTING Traditional cameras print date and/or time information directly onto the film. Your camera uses the film’s magnetic datarecording capability to record date and time information which your photofinisher can imprint on the back and front or back only of your photographs. This camera has a quartz clock and automatic calendar through the year 2029. Setting the date and time 2. Press and hold the date button until the first number(s) in the date-option mode “blinks.” 3.
SETTING THE LANGUAGE PRINT TITLE IMPRINTING “US” English is initially set into the memory of this camera or you can change the language code to “FrE” for French, “SPA” for Spanish, “GEr” for German, or “JP” for Katakana. You can choose a print title from the Titleselect list and choose a language (see Setting the language) before you take the picture. The title you select will be recorded on the film’s magnetic data strip.

POUR PRENDRE DES PHOTOS AU FLASH Dans des conditions de lumière faible, à l’intérieur, ou à l’extérieur dans des lieux ombragés ou par temps couvert, il vous faut utiliser un flash. Votre appareil-photo est doté d’un flash automatique qui s’actionne au besoin. 1. Pressez l’INTERRUPTEUR MARCHE/ ARRÊT (2) pour ouvrir le couvre-objectif et mettre l’appareil-photo sous tension. 4.
SÉLECTION DES MODES FLASH ET MISE AU POINT À L’INFINI Outre le mode flash automatique avec réduction des yeux rouges, vous pouvez choisir les modes flash automatique sans réduction des yeux rouges, flash d’appoint, flash désactivé, vue nocturne et mise au point à l’infini. Appuyez sur le BOUTON SÉLECTION/FLASH (20) jusqu’à ce que l’indicateur du mode recherché apparaisse sur le PANNEAU ACL (11).
Flash automatique sans réduction des yeux rouges Flash d’appoint FILL Utilisez ce mode pour prendre des photos sans personnage. Vous pouvez changer le réglage par défaut à flash automatique sans réduction des yeux rouges de la façon suivante : À l’intérieur ou à l’extérieur, la lumière vive projetée sur des sujets éclairés à contrejour peut créer des ombres marquées (en particulier sur les visages). Pour adoucir ces ombres, il suffit d’utiliser le flash d’appoint. 1.
Flash désactivé OFF Vue nocturne Lorsque vous ne voulez pas utiliser le flash, notamment à l’intérieur dans les endroits où on l’interdit (comme les musées et les théâtres), pour photographier des scènes au crépuscule ou des sujets éloignés situés au-delà de la portée du flash, ou encore pour saisir l’atmosphère créée par la lumière ambiante, utilisez la fonction de flash désactivé.
Mise au point à l’infini Ce mode vous permet de saisir nettement des scènes extérieures éloignées. 1. Pressez l’INTERRUPTEUR MARCHE/ ARRÊT (2) pour ouvrir le couvre-objectif et mettre l’appareil-photo sous tension. 2. Appuyez sur le BOUTON SÉLECTION/ FLASH (20) à plusieurs reprises jusqu’à ce que l’INDICATEUR DE MISE AU POINT À L’INFINI (31) soit affiché sur le PANNEAU ACL (11). 3. Cadrez bien votre sujet dans l’OCULAIRE DU VISEUR (10). 4. Appuyez sur le DÉCLENCHEUR (1) pour prendre la photo.
IMPRESSION DE LA DATE ET DE L’HEURE Les appareils-photo traditionnels impriment la date et l’heure de la photo directement sur le film. Votre appareil utilise plutôt la bande magnétique du film pour y enregistrer les données de date et heure, que votre laboratoire pourra imprimer plus tard au recto et au verso de vos photos, ou au verso seulement. Cet appareil possède une horloge à quartz et un calendrier automatique allant jusqu’en l’an 2029.
CHOIX DE LA LANGUE IMPRESSION DU TITRE Le paramètre de langue par défaut en mémoire de cet appareil-photo est fixé à « US » (anglais). Vous pouvez remplacer ce paramètre par « FrE » (français), « GEr » (allemand), « SPA » (espagnol) ou « JP » (Katakana). Vous pouvez choisir l’un ou l’autre des titres présélectionnés dans la liste de titres, ainsi qu’une langue (voir Choix de la langue) avant de prendre la photo.

Rembobinage manuel Si vous ne souhaitez pas prendre toutes les photos du rouleau de film, vous pouvez activer de façon manuelle le dispositif de rembobinage automatique. 1. Appuyez délicatement sur le BOUTON DE REMBOBINAGE DU FILM (12) pour activer le dispositif de rembobinage automatique. 2. Poursuivez avec les étapes 1 à 3 de la section Rembobinage automatique. NOTA : Vous ne pouvez pas recharger un film partiellement exposé dans l’appareil-photo pour poursuivre la prise de photos.
