tion of putting in the en itive Paper
must be performed in a subdued light,
that i to say in an ordinary room, as far
as po sible from any window. The paper
not used must be kept covered in its
envelope.
The printing frame, when filled as
directed, is to be laid gla s ide up ill the
tronge t light po ible (sunlight pre-
ferred) until the light, pa sing through
the negative into the ensitive Paper, ha
impressed the image ufficiently upon it.
The progres of the printing can be
examined from time to time by removing
the frame from the trong light, and open-
ing one-half of the hinged back, keeping
the other half fa tened to hold the paper
from shifting. The printing hould be
continued until the print i a little darker
tint than the fini hed print hould be.
Place print without previous wa hing in
the following combined toning and fixing
bath:
2 oz. Ea tman's Solio Toning Batb.
4 oz. Cold \Vater.
Pour the toning olution into one of
the trays and immerse the prints one after
