Troubleshooting
Memory card is almost
or entirely full
■ Transfer the pictures to the computer (see page 46).
■ Delete pictures from the card (see page 29) or insert a new card.
The Reset Camera
feature did not take
effect.
■ After using the Reset Camera feature (see page 45), turn the
camera off and then on again.
Battery life is short ■ Make sure the correct battery type is installed (see page 60).
■ Charge the batteries (see page 1).
■ Use a power-saving LCD Brightness setting (see page 43).
Shutter button does
not work.
■ Turn on the camera (see page 3).
■ Transfer pictures to the computer (see page 46), delete pictures
from the camera (see page 29), switch image storage locations
(see page 45), or insert a card with available memory (see
page 6).
Memory card not
recognized or camera
freezes with card
■ Card may be corrupted. Format the card in the camera (see
page 45).
Caution: Formatting a card deletes all pictures and
videos, including protected files.
■ Use another memory card. Only SD or SDHC Cards are supported.
Pictures on card (or in
internal memory) are
corrupted
■ Retake pictures.
■ Do not remove card while the camera is on.
■ Keep rechargeable batteries charged.
■ Transfer pictures to the computer (see page 46), then format the
card or internal memory (see page 45).
Caution: Formatting a card deletes all pictures and
videos, including protected files.
Cannot find the
desired picture/video
■ To view pictures on a card or in internal memory, see page 28.
