• Mark the location of the ﬁxing holes and drill the holes ensuring not to infringe with any

gas/water pipes or electrical cables

• Feed the mains cable through the rubber grommet to retain IP rating, and secure the

baseplate to the surface

• Connect to the mains supply ensuring the correct polarity is observed: L – Live, SL –

Switched Live (brown), E – Earth (green/yellow), N – Neutral (blue) (see Fig. 3). The earth

terminal is non-functional and only provided for convenience

• Ensure the battery is connected via the plug and socket to the PCB

• Refasten the LED plate screw

• Reattach the diffuser by rotating clockwise

• Switch on and check for correct operation ensuring the green indicator LED is illuminated

• We recommend, on commissioning the installation, a minimum charge period of 24

hours before carrying out an emergency duration test
