6126/6127 Air Horn & Compressor Package
Supplemental instructions
The 6126/6127 air horn and compressor packages can be easily added to almost any
existing automotive horn system. Just follow these steps:
Determine the polarity of your horn switch.
Most vehicles have a ‘negative’ horn circuit, which means that when the existing
horn button is pressed a ground signal goes through the horn wire. To determine
if you have this type of system, locate the horn wire in your vehicle and use an
ohm meter to measure the resistance from the horn wire to ground. When the
horn button is pressed, the resistance will be zero.
Connect the relay
Your horn kit includes a relay, which is used to send power to the compressor
when you press the vehicle’s horn button. Connect the relay as shown below
**NOTE** - If your horn wire is positive, connect pin 1 to ground. All other
connections stay the same.
Make the rest of your connections
Connect the ‘-‘ terminal on the compressor to ground. It is also recommended
that you add a 20 amp fuse to the wire running from Pin 1 to your power source.
