Typical Applications
In the simplest case, the break-in interface would be inserted at the “head” of the network,
between the serial interface and the devices. The two AES3 audio channels would then be
available to all the devices on the network. Some devices could be congured to pick-o one
channel, and some the other channel.
Since the break-in interface is able to insert new audio channels onto the network without
aecting the up-stream channels, it is possible to create many audio zones by adding more
break-in interfaces.
Net OUT - This is a copy of the network control data on the Net IN connector, but with any AES3
replaced by the AES3 inserted at this break-in interface.
AES3 IN - This XLR female connector passes AES3 data to the RJ45 OUT connector.
Compatibility
The AES3 break-in interface is compatible with VNET or VNET2 devices. However, only VNET2
devices will be able to accept the digital audio channels as audio inputs. All VNET2 data
(including the AES3 stream) will pass through a VNET device without any problems, and the
VNET device will of course respond to networked control as usual.
