3.3 Pull the starter lightly until you feel resistance, then pull briskly. Starting requires
several pulls of the pull cord.

4. STO
P THE ENGINE
WARNING! Be careful to avoid contact with the cutting-line head while
handling the trimmer with the engine running.
Read the instruction handbook and follow all warnings and safety instructions.
Wear eye protection and ear protection. Keep bystanders away.
Always operate trimmer at full throttle. Cut tall grass from the top down. This will
prevent grass from wrapping around the shaft housing and cutting head, which
may cause damage from overheating. If grass becomes wrapped round the
cutting head, stop the engine, and remove the grass. Prolonged cutting at partial
throttle will result in oil dripping from the silencer.
5. BUMP-FEED CUTTING-LINE HEAD
As the end of the line wears away, more line must be released from the cutting-line
head. Your trimmer is factory equipped with a semi-automatic (bump feed) cutting-
line head. Line must be released from the cutting head while it is spinning rapidly.
With the engine and cutting head running at full speed, tap the spool on hard,
bare ground. Do not tap the cutting-line head on pavement or concrete. Each tap
releases about 2 inches of line. (See Fig. S)
