30-day period.
Petrol is highly
flammable and extreme precautions must be taken when
handling or working with petrol.
Filling the tank
1) Rest the trimmer on the ground with the fuel tank cap facing up. Clean surface
around fuel cap to prevent contamination.
2) Loosen fuel cap slowly to release pressure and to keep fuel from escaping
around the cap.
3)
Carefully pour fuel mixture into the tank.
(See Fig. K)
4) Cle
an and inspect the fuel cap, then
tighten the fuel cap. Wipe up any
spillage.
NOTE: It is normal for smoke to emit
from a new 2-stroke engine during and
after first use.
WARNING! Always shut off engine
befor
e refueling. Move at least (10 feet) 3 metres away from refueling site
before starting engine.
Refueling
Check the fuel level by looking through the translucent fuel tank. If the fuel level is
low, refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine switched off. If the engine has
been running, allow it to cool first.
2. SAF
E OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
For your safety, avoid starting or operating the engine in enclosed areas, such as a
garage. Your engine's exhaust contains poisonous carbon monoxide gas, which
can collect rapidly in an enclosed area and cause illness or death.
If the line trimmer starts to shake or vibrate, stop the engine immediately.
After the cutter blade has completely stopped, inspect it to determine the cause of
the vibration. Sudden vibration is a sign of a hazardous problem, such as a loose
or damaged blade. Do not operate the cutter until the problem has been
corrected.
3. STARTING THE MACHINE
WARNING! Avoid contact with muffler (17); a hot exhaust can cause
s
erious burn!
