30-day period. Petrol is highly flammable and extreme precautions must be taken when handling or working with petrol. Filling the tank 1) Rest the trimmer on the ground with the fuel tank cap facing up. Clean surface around fuel cap to prevent contamination. 2) Loosen fuel cap slowly to release pressure and to keep fuel from escaping around the cap. 3) Carefully pour fuel mixture into the tank. (See Fig. K) 4) Clean and inspect the fuel cap, then tighten the fuel cap. Wipe up any spillage.
1) Remove the blade cover in the guard first. Then set the trimmer on the ground. Do not allow the cutting-line to contact any obstruction. Always rest the trimmer on the ground for starting, rather than holding it in the operating position. This prevents the end of the trimmer from swinging into something as you start the engine. Half position 10 2) Starting cold engine 2.1 Press the On/Off switch to the” I” position. (See Fig. L) Fig. L 2.2 Move the choke lever (12) to the“ Fig. M 16 ” position.

MAINTENANCE 1. THE IMPORTANCE OF MAINTENANCE Good maintenance is essential for safe, economical, and trouble-free operation. It will also help reduce air pollution. Improperly maintaining this trimmer, or failure to correct a problem before operation, can cause a malfunction in which you can be seriously hurt or killed. 2. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS 1) Make sure the engine is switched off before you begin any maintenance or repairs. Ensure the cutting attachments stop at idle speed.
Clean the filter in the oil. When filling the filter cover, put the choke lever to the middle position. 4. CUTTING-LINE HEAD The cutting-line head containing nylon monofilament line, a guard and a cutoff knife as standard equipment. The guard’s cutoff knife automatically removes any excess line that is released from the cutting head. A protective cover is used over the cutoff knife. Remove this protective cover before operating. (See Fig.
3) Measure approximately 6 metres of line, and then thread one end through the hole on the spool. Pull the line until the two line lengths are equal (See Fig. W). Fig. W 4) Wind both lines tightly and evenly from side to side and feed the line while turning the spool in the direction of the arrow - winding clockwise. Do not allow the lines to become twisted (See Fig. X). Fig. X It is important to prevent the two lines from becoming twisted with each other.
6) Insert each end of the cutting lines through the eyelets in the cutting head and locate the spool over the spindle. (See Fig. Z) Fig. Z 7) Once the spool is in place, apply pressure on the spool and compress the spring. Pull each end of the lines sharply to unlock the line from the slots. 8) Continue to apply pressure to the spool until the knob can be threaded anticlockwise onto the spindle. Tighten the bump head knob securely (See Fig. AA&AB). Fig. AA Fig. AB 7.
1) Remove the spark plug cover by pulling it away from the spark plug. (See Fig. AC) Fig. AC 2) Remove the spark plug from the engine by rotating anti-clockwise with the socket spanner provided. (See Fig. AD) Fig. AD 3) Follow these cleaning instructions: (See Fig. AE) • Spray the spark plug with a quality carbon cleaner. • Gently clean using a wire brush. • Install the new or cleaned spark plug with 0.5~0.7mm electrode gap and reassemble completely before use. This engine uses a L6RTC with 0.5-0.
9. FUEL FILTER (SEE FIG. AF) Fuel tank is fitted with a filter (b). Filter is situated at the free end of fuel pipe and can be picked out through fuel port with a piece of hooked wire. Check the fuel filter periodically. Do not allow dust to enter the fuel tank. A clogged filter will make it difficult for the engine to start and may cause abnormalities in engine performance. When filter is dirty, replace. When the inside of the fuel tank is dirty, clean it by rinsing the tank out with petrol.
WARNING: 2 Stroke fuel when stored for an extended period of time (and this can sometimes be as little as a month) will go stale. It loses the gases required for combustion and may render starting difficult. The easiest and recommended option is not to store fuel for extended periods. You should empty out all fuel in both your machine and fuel container, and start fresh with new fuel at the beginning of each new season.
