Troubleshooting
15.4 Memory Problems
Problem Solution
S600 sends out
warnings of
insufficient memory.
Please perform the following:
Delete files that you no longer need: tap ProgramsFile
Explorer.
Delete programs that you no longer need: tap SettingsSystem
Remove Programs.
Adjust memory allocation: tap SettingsSystemMemory
Main.
Delete all files and history in Internet Explorer: tap Internet
ExplorerToolsOptionsMemory.
Stop running programs: tap SettingsSystemMemory
Running Programs; or tap on the Today screen.
Save data to a miniSD card.
How to find out the
memory capacity
after resetting?.
Tap
SettingsSystemMemoryMain.
15.5 Screen Problems
Problem Solution
Screen is off.
Connect the AC adapter to your device and to external AC power.
Remove the battery and then reinstall it.
Screen responds
slowly.
The battery power may be low. Connect the AC adapter to your device and
to external AC power.
Probably too many programs are in use. Stop the running programs: tap
SettingsSystemMemoryRunning Programs.
Screen is not clear
or hard to read.
Turn on the backlight of the display.
Move to a location with enough light.
Inaccurate response
to stylus taps.
Realign the touch screen: tap SettingsSystemScreenAlign
Screen.
15.6 Connection Problems
Problem Solution
Synchronization
to the desktop
computer fails.
Make sure that you have installed the correct version of ActiveSync on
your desktop computer. ActiveSync version 3.7 or later is recommended.
Make sure that the cable connection is correct.
Disconnect and then re-connect the cable.
Remove the driver for S600 and ActiveSync on the desktop computer,
and then reinstall them. Do not connect the cable during ActiveSync
installation.
Using infrared to
beam information
fails.
Transfer only one file, or no more than 25 contact cards, at a time.
When using IR, make sure nothing is between the two IR ports.
Adjust the room lighting or move to another location (some types of light
interfere with beaming).
