Maintenance & Adjustments
Level Wind Timing
Proper ming of the levelwind mechanism is essenal for the successful operaon of the Water-Reel. Improp-
er levelwind ming will result in mis-wrapped tube. Travel will be interrupted because the auto compensa-
on/shut-o bar will stop the drive system in order to prevent damage to the irrigaon tube.
Warning! Do not connue to operate if the tube is not winding properly! Operaon of a
machine that is not winding properly may result in machine damage or personal injury.
IMPORTANT! If the machine levelwind appears to be malfunconing, be posive that the levelwind ming is
really at fault before aempng to change the ming. If the tubing is loose on the spool the levelwind system
will appear to be out of me. Possible reasons and soluons are:
1. Tube coils were not packed ghtly on drum when operaon was started. This can be caused by consist-
ently making paral runs (more than 1 layer of tube remaining on drum) or by ignoring loose coils at
startup.
2. Tube egg shaping or deformaon (boom layer) due to winding via engine or PTO while the tube is not
under pressure. This can be xed by pulling all the tube out, pressuring the tube up with water and allow-
ing the sun to warm the tube unl its shape is regained.
The only way to verify ming is to follow the instrucon below:
