Start Up & Operaon
Cauon! The correct belt posion must be used to prevent excessive turbine pressure loss. The life
expectancy of the turbine motor bearings and seal will be substanally shortened if the turbine is
allowed to run faster than necessary (10 psi maximum loss). This is accomplished as follows:
1. Check inlet pressure prior to engaging turbine
2. Check inlet pressure aer engaging turbine.
3. Verify that the pressure loss is less than 10 psi.
4. If the pressure loss is greater than 10 psi, adjust turbine speed control to a pressure loss of 10psi
maximum.
5. If addional speed control is required (faster) use the turbine/gearbox pulley sengs.
6. Never operate turbine with greater than 10 psi of pressure loss.
With water owing through the system and the belt posion selected, adjust the speed control crank unl the
desired speed is indicated on the travel speed indicator (see illustraon Page 20). Cruise Control equipped
models control the speed via the keypad. See the Cruise Control operators manual for complete instrucons.
Safety Shut O:
AA Models are equipped with an Automac Safety Shuto which shuts down the turbine when acvated.
This is accomplished by the shuto and hose retenon bar. The funcons of the hose retenon bar are
A. Stopping the unit when the hose reel tube has completed winding on the drum.
B. Stopping retracon in the event of a mis-wrap keeping the hose from geng outside the drum.
C. Acvang the turbine compensaon to vary the speed of the drum.
