POWDER-COATING: Powder-coating is a scratch and chip resistant finish that retains its bright, coloful look for
years. All steel tubing in the Kidstuff series is powder-coated over the galvanizing for additional rust protection.
Powder-coating shall be at a thickness of 2-3 mils and baked at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
CLAMP: The Kidstuff clamp is cast from aluminum alloy and then powder-coated to complement both the 3 1/2''
and 5'' posts. The clamp incorporates a built-in socket to encompass a pipe end. The clamp halves attach with
5/16 x 1-1/4'' socket-head bolts and nylon locking nuts. A pipe end is held in the socket by a 3/8 x 1/2'' setscrew. All
hardware is stainless steel and is tamper-resistant. Once in final position, the clamp attaches to the post with a 1/4
x 1'' aluminum drive rivet. This will prevent the clamp from moving on the post
FASTENERS: Tamper resistant steel hardware is used throughout the ''Kidstuff'' system.
PLASTIC SQUARE AND TRIANGLE DECK: Double-walled decks are constructed of rotationally molded polyeth-
ylene, with each wall at least 1/4" thick. Square decks measure 38-1/2" x 38-1/2" while triangle decks are 38-1/2" x
38-1/2" x 52". They are reinforced on the bottom for added strength and rigidity. Deck color is stabilized with the
use of ultraviolet inhibitors.
POST CAP FOR 3-1/2" OD POST: Shatter proof, made of injection-molded polyethylene. Unique "one-way" design
provides a tight fit while preventing removal.
POSTS: 3-1/2" OD galvanized steel tubing 13 gauge, yield strength: 45,000 psi minimum, tensile strength: 48,000
psi minimum; posts will be cut to proper lengths, then powder-coated. Posts meet applicable ASTM standards.
CLIMBING WALL: Computer generated polyethylene panel 3/4" thick with hand grips as well as holes for gripping
and feet placement. Designed to work with decks from 60" to 72" high.
CNC PLASTIC PANELS: Panels are 3/4" thick sheets of laminated polyethylene, with 3 layers and 2 different col-
ors. CNC router scribes designs into the plastic. A variety of themed panels are available:
PLASTIC SLIDES: All plastic slides are double-
walled, rotationally-molded with a nominal wall
thickness of 1/4", manufactured with com-
pounded polyethylene. Color is stabilized by
ultraviolet inhibitors.
TRANSFER MODULE: Fabricated of 1/2" ex-
panded steel, reinforced with 10 ga. Steel c-
channel; plastisol-dipped after fabrication. Step
size and height comply with ASTM guidelines
for transferring from a wheelchair to a
playstructure.
CNC PLASTIC FLAGS: Flags are 3/4" thick
sheets of lamintated polyethylene, usually
black, but colors are available. CNC router
scribes designs into the plastic.
All play equipment that children play on shall be
IPEMA certified, with evidence provided with
the bid. The play equipment manufacturer shall
be ISO 9001-2008 certified.
