User Guide
Config Menu
The
Config
menu in the Keyspan USB Server application is primarily used to change the Local
UDP Port that the USB Server software uses and to update firmware. Open the menu by selecting
Config in the Keyspan USB Server application (see next images):
Config: Local UDP Port
This selection changes what
UDP port
the Keyspan USB Server
software will use to 'listen' or 'find' USB Server hardware. By
default, the USB Server software listens to port 3842 and the
USB Server broadcasts on the same port (3842). This port can be
changed to any number however we suggest that you use the
default setting (3842).
It is possible to have different UDP ports selected in both Local
UDP Port (software) and USB Server's UDP Port (hardware). If
this happens, you will not be able to communicate with your USB
Server hardware.
TROUBLESHOOTING
:
If you have changed these settings
and can no longer see your USB Server, please proceed to the
TroubleShooting:UDP Ports
section in this manual.
Tech Note
:
Changing UDP Ports
:
In some cases, you may want to limit
the number of people using a particular USB Server or to hide that server from
other users. You can do this by changing the your server's UDP port.
To do this, first change your USB Server's
UDP Port
in the
Admin
tab to
whatever number you want. Lastly, change your Local UDP Port to same
number. At this point, only you will be able to connect to this server. To allow
other users to use your 'private' server, have them set their Local UDP Ports to
whatever number you chose.
