Electrical condions -EachKELLERproductisdesignedtooperateproperlywithina
specicrangeofelectricalcondions.Thespecicproductlabeldenestherang(s),
ifany,thatappliestotheproducttowhichitisaxed.Alltransmiersaredesigned
towithstandreversepolarityaswellasovervoltagetoacertainextent.Itistheuser’s
responsibilitytoensurethatallelectricalconneconsaremadetotheKELLERproducts
inaccordancewithKELLERrecommendaonsaswellaslocalelectricalcode.Wirecolors
orconnectorpin-outsareeitherprintedonthelabelaxedtotheproductorprovided
separately.
Cleaning-
WARNING!Undernocircumstancesshouldthemembrane,pressureinput
port,ornosecaptotheKELLERdevicebeprobedwithanyobject.Damagetothesens-
ingmembraneispermanentand,inmostcases,requiresrepairorreplacement.
Regardingmedia-isolatedproducts,shouldthepressureinputornosecaptothesensor,
transducer,ortransmierbecomefouled,itmaybecleanedinthefollowingmanner:
Thedeviceshouldbeslowlyloweredmembrane-endintoasoluonofwarm,soapy
water.Careshouldbetakennottosubmergetheenredevice,unlessitisspecically
designedforconnuoussubmergence.Agitateinthesoluonfor20-30secondsorunl
theinput/nosecaptothedeviceisclear.Finishbysrringinfreshwater.Wipedrywitha
soragortowel.
Asoapscumandhard-waterstainremovermayalsobeused,ifnecessary,butonly
aercompabilitywithanyo-ringsealsintheKELLERproductisdetermined.Followthe
solventmanufacturer’srecommendaonsforsafehandling.

Transmier Submersion -Damagetosubmersiblecablecanleadtofailureofthetrans-
mier.KELLERemploysaruggedcablejacketmaterialstominimizetheriskofcutsand
abrasion.Sll,takecarewhenloweringyourtransmierintothewell,makingsurethe
cabledoesnotdragoversharpedges.Avoiddroppingthetransmierfromthesurface.
Donotsubmergeelectricalconneconendofcable.
Condensaon protecon -KELLERhasopmizedthesizeofthecableventtominimize
theoccurrenceofwatervaporincursion.Inareasofhighhumidity,itmaybedesirable
touseaDryingTubeAssembly(desiccant)orBellowsAssemblytopreventwatervapor
fromenteringtheventtube.ContactKELLERAmericafororderinginformaon.
Bending of Cable-Ourjacketedcableisquiteexible.However,caremustbetakento
ensuretheventtubeintegraltothecableisnotcrimpedwhenbendingthecabletosuit
yourinstallaon.Itisrecommendedthatthecablenotbebenttoaradiussmallerthan
1inch.
Cable Compression -Manyusersemployacompressionngtosecureourcableasit
entersajunconbox.Caremustbetakenthatthengisnotoverghtened,causing
damage to the cable and/or crimping the vent tube.
Posion Sensivity-Thetransmiershouldbeinstalledinavercalposion,other-
wiseitmayexhibitanoset.Ifthetransmiermustbeinstalledinanyposionother
thanvercal,measuretheoutputwithnopressureappliedpriortoconnecontoyour
display,PLC,orcontroller.Usethemeasuredvalueforyourzeropoint.
VIII. Use and Care:
Safe Handling-SafehandlingofKELLERpressuremeasurementdevicesisaccomplished
ifanominalamountofcareistaken.Thingstoavoidare:
•Sharpimpactagainsthardsurfaces
•Contactwithchemicalsknowntobecorrosivetothematerialsofconstrucon
•ProbingofpressuresensingmembranewithANYTHING
Limits of Pressure -KELLERpressuresensors,transducersandtransmiersaredesigned
towithstandacertainamountofoverpressurewithoutdamageorcalibraonshi.It
canrangefrom15Xforthelowerpressurerangesto1.1Xforthehighestranges.This
valueisdierentforeachproductandisreferredtointheproductliteratureas“proof
pressure”.Itistheuser’sresponsibilitytoensurethattheproperKELLERproductischo-
senfortheparcularpressurecondionsexpected.
Environmental condions-EachKELLERproductisdesignedtobecompablewitha
parcularenvironment.Itistheuser’sresponsibilitytoensurethattheKELLERproduct
isnotexposedtoanenvironmentalcondionforwhichitisnotdesigned.Thesecondi-
onscanincludeoperangtemperaturerangeandexposuretohigh-pressurewaterjets,
