SOFT WHOLE WHEAT DINNER ROLLS Makes 16 dinner rolls
For lovers of sweet whole wheat breads, these are the best whole grain dinner rolls.
You can make them in any shape you choose; see Technique: How to Shape and Bake
Soft Dinner Rolls for instructions. The sour cream makes these rolls tender and moist.
Be prepared for the bread basket to be emptied!

cup sour cream

cup honey
2 large eggs
4 tablespoons butter or margarine, cut into pieces
3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour

cup toasted wheat germ

teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons SAF yeast or 2

teaspoons bread machine
yeast
Place all the ingredients in the pan according to the order in the manufacturer’s in-
structions. Program for the Dough cycle; press Start.
Grease a large baking sheet or line with parchment paper. When the machine beeps
at the end of the cycle, press Stop and unplug the machine. Turn the dough out
onto a lightly floured surface. Divide the dough in half, then roll each half into a
