29 Perfectseal Quick-Grip Modified Bitumen Adhesive
*Read Safety Data Sheet before using this product.*
DESCRIPTION: 29 Perfectseal Quick-Grip Modified Adhesive is a bituminous based adhesive sealant
designed for the application and repair of modified bitumen single-ply membranes and bituminous single-
ply membranes. When properly utilized this product adheres the membrane and seals the laps to prevent
water intrusion. This economical and useful adhesive is designed to provide greater bonding strength.
USES: 29 Perfectseal Quick-Grip Modified Adhesive Brush Grade is designed as an adhesive sealant for
SBS modified bitumen single-ply membranes and bituminous single-ply membranes such as conventional
rolled roofing membranes and granular cap sheets. 29 Perfectseal Quick-Grip Modified Adhesive Trowel
Grade is designed as an adhesive sealant for SBS modified bitumen single-ply membranes and
bituminous single-ply membranes. Use for flashing vertical surfaces, skylights, vents and pipes (Not for
use around heated vents or pipes).
SURFACE PREPARATIONS: All surfaces should be free from oil, grease, dirt and loose materials. All
BUR surfaces should be patched and repaired with KARNAK 19 Ultra Rubberized Flashing Cement and
KARNAK 31 Glass Membrane. Metal surfaces must have all rust and scales removed. Recommended
application temperature is 40°F to 120°F. If applying at temperatures lower than 40°F, the substrate must
be free of moisture and/or ice crystals.
APPLICATION: Apply 29 Perfectseal Quick-Grip Adhesive Brush Grade on Horizontal surfaces at a rate
of approximately 1-2 gallons per 100 square feet; as determined by the irregularity and absorptive nature
of the surface. Excessive use may create blistering. A rubber squeegee, brush or roller is the
recommended application tool. Overlaps should be at least 4” wide. Do not apply adhesive directly to
decking or sheathing. On Vertical surfaces apply 29 Perfectseal Quick-Grip Trowel Grade at a 1/8”
thickness, as determined by the irregularity and absorptive nature of the surface. Excessive use may
create blistering. A 1/4” serrated trowel is the recommended application tool. Overlaps should be at least
4” wide. Application of one or multiple layer(s), allow a minimum of 15-20 minutes open air time before
applying Cap Sheet or before each layer. Do not exceed 2 layers when installing with adhesive. Cover all
air intakes during application and while drying. Application thickness, temperature, and number of
membranes dictate how long it will take for the product to fully dry. Please consult membrane
manufacturer for specific information and installation regarding their product.
COVERAGE RATE: Apply 29 Perfectseal Quick-Grip Adhesive Brush Grade at the rate of 1 to 2 gallons
per 100 sq. ft. On porous or irregular surfaces, 2 gallons per 100 sq. ft. may be required. 29 Perfectseal
Quick-Grip Adhesive Trowel Grade should be applied at 1/8” thickness (approx. 8 gallons per 100 sq.
feet.)
CAUTION: Do not use near open flame. Material is for building exterior applications only. Avoid breathing
solvent fumes and prolonged contact with skin. Excessive application may create blistering. Application at
temperatures below 40°F may take longer to cure. Do not take internally. If swallowed, do not induce
vomiting. Call a physician immediately. Keep out of reach of children. Keep container covered when not
in use. Do not thin. Dispose of in an environmentally safe manner. Insure that proper ventilation is
maintained during application and drying to prevent solvent fumes from entering the building.
Exterior use only.
