4.3.1.6 Always be careful not to go too fast or turn too quickl y
and try to achieve a smooth steady ride.

stop to look in shop windows or talk to people,
remember to turn the chair so that the person in the

user out of the wheelchai r .

4.3.4 GOING DOWN KERBS
Please note that it is always better to avoid kerbs wher e
possible by using ramped kerbs or slopes and this operation i s
best attempted with the aid of an att e ndant.

4.3.4.1.1 Position the wheelchair so that the front castors ar e
near the edge of the kerb and make sure that the road is
clea r .
