BEFORE USING THE FIRST TIME
• Carefully unpack your slow cooker and clean it according to the
instructions outlined in the “CLEANING AND CARE” section of the
manual.
• It is necessary to operate the slow cooker once before placing
food in the stoneware liner. Place the unit on a heat resistant
surface. Pour 4 cups of water into the stoneware liner and place it
into the base unit. Cover with the glass lid.
• Turn the set Heat to “High” position, and allow heating for
approximately 30 minutes. You may notice a slight odor; this is
normal and will quickly diminish.
• Turn the control to OFF and allow the unit to cool for 20 minutes.
• While wearing oven mitts, grab the stoneware liner by its handles
to carefully lift it and remove it from the base unit. Pour the water
out from the stoneware liner.
• Rinse the stoneware liner, dry it thoroughly, and replace into the
base unit.
