PREPARING THE MACHINE
Check if all switches are on the OFF position (high position).
Check that the steam control knob (H) is closed by turning it clockwise.
We recommend to get used to all functions of your appliance before using it for the first time.
Fill the tank (B) with cold water and replace it correctly (Fig. 1).
Before the first use, in order to wash the inner side of the appliance circuit, you have to operate it
three times reading the following instructions (without coffee in the filter holder).
Wash the accessories thoroughly in hot soapy water, rinse and dry them carefully.
Be sure that the suction pads stick to the stand surface of the appliance.
EXPRESSO FUNCTION
How to prepare an authentic expresso?
The expresso is a strong coffee, with a characteristic taste, extremely rich in aroma. Therefore, the
water which arrives in the filter with a high temperature is pushed very fast through the coffee mass
by a strong pressure. It extracts the nectar from the grinding and draws the essential aromas from the

Use preferably a special expresso coffee with suitable roasting and grinding.
Remember that the expresso needs a finer grinding than the filter coffee.
1. Switch on the appliance by pressing the ON/OFF switch (M), the pilot lights (P & Q) will come
on.
2. Place the BarCREAM®Disc (I) in the filter holder (G) and insert the filter (J). Fill it with ground
coffee, pour a coffee measure for one cup and two measures for two cups. To measure out, use
the measuring spoon (K). Genlty tamp the coffee with this spoon (K) and remove the excess
coffee from the edge of filter holder (G). This will ensure the good positioning of the filter
holder in its support.
3. Position the filter holder (G) in the support of the filter holder. Turn firmly to the right until it
blocks (Fig. 2). The filter holder (G) should be the most possible on the right of the closing zone
and at least in the middle of the appliance. This will avoid that the filter holder (G) comes out of
its housing as the pressure rises when the coffee is pouring.

not operate your appliance, remove the filter holder and position it again as here above
described.
5. Place directly one or 2 cups under the filter holder.
6. When the pilot light (Q) comes out, press the Expresso switch (L) to operate (Fig.3).
7. Press the same expresso switch (L) once again to stop the coffee pours.
ATTENTION: Never remove the filter holder when the Expresso switch (L) is on.
When the water tank is empty or after a long period of non use, any particular handling is necessary
because the appliance has a self-priming system. You only have to fill in the water tank.
Precaution
Be careful when you remove the filter holder (G) because the metal parts may be still hot. To remove
the filter holder, turn it to the left in order to dislodge it from the appliance.
