MOUNTING THE SHOWER TRAY
Note I: Use only two-component PUR
foam (observe manufacturer‘s instruc-
tions). Let the shower tray rest until the
PUR foam has cured. Curing of the PUR
foam takes longer in the absence of air.
Two-component PUR foam is among other
things highly inflammable. During applica
-
tion and curing, sufficient ventilation is
to be ensured. No open flame should be
used in the entire area.
Note II: Do not lay the earthing cable
through the PUR foam or across the FR
5300.
Note III: Make sure that the rubber sup-
porting pads do not slip when placing the
shower tray in position.
Note IV: The shower tray has to rest
planely on the FR 5300 and must not tilt.
Note V: The mounting guidelines and the
instructions of the siphon manufacturer
must be observed.
Put up the enclosures fabricated from the end strips of the card
-
board box (A, alternatively MAS 5305 - see page 8) in the FR 5300
(if the shower trays are larger than 90 cm).
Pile-up two-component PUR foam in the enclosure (A) at an ex
-
cessive height (see note I).
Connect the equipotential bonding (see note II).
Place the shower tray in position and align it parallel to the tiles
with a gap of approx. 2 mm (see notes III/IV).
Fasten siphon (see note V).
SEALING OF THE JOINT EDGES
After all work has been completed and the PUR foam completely
hardened, the joint edges can be sealed with the corresponding
flexible sealant.
Put a weight of approx. 50 kg (e.g. bags of cement) on the show-
er tray during the sealing work (see note I).
Seal maintenance joint with sealing material (e. g. silicone,
acrylic) and let it rest until the sealing material has hardened
completely (see manufacturer‘s instructions).
A = Wall tile with tile adhesive
B = Floor tile with tile adhesive and end rail
C = Maintenance joint (sealing material)
D = Shower tray
E = Noise-damping strip
To guarantee an adequate sound insula
-
tion, any contact between the FR 5300
components, the shower tray and the
structural elements must be avoided.
Suitable damping strips (E, not included
in the supply) should be used, if neces-
sary.
Note I: Protect the surface of the shower
tray from damage (e.g. by lining it with
clean cardboard).
