Why does my pump stay on after the water has been cleared?
The pump stays on for 5 seconds after it has finished clearing all the water from the sink. This is a
new improved feature that will ensure no water remains in the sink.
Why do I need 6 feet of vertical pipe above my check valve?
The pressure from the 6 feet of pipe seals the check valve. Having fewer feet of vertical pipe will
cause the check valve to not seal properly. This will cause a leak and your pump may turn on
sporadically when enough water pools back around the pump.
Should my ball valve stay open all the way?
No. The ball valve should be adjusted to accommodate the water coming from the sink. The ball
valve should be approximately 90% closed. This will ensure there is enough backflow to turn the
pump on.
Is there a little float inside the pump or system that turns it on?
No, the pump does not work like a sump pump as it runs on back pressure. This is why the ball
valve is very important and should be placed according to the instructions and diagram provided
in the owner’s manual.
Can I replace the check valve with a spring-loaded check valve?
No. Our check valve is the only one that should be used. A spring-loaded check valve requires too
much force to push it open. The water getting through the ball valve is not strong enough to
open a spring-loaded check valve and the result could be water churning in the sink but never
pumping out. Please only use our check valve.
My pump has worked great for months but today it turned on and would not pump out
water, what happened?
If debris makes its way into the sink and to the check valve, it could cause the check valve to stay
open or even rip the flap inside of the check valve. Clean any debris that is inside the check valve
or if you need to replace it, call us at (844) 242-2475 to request part# RP00S0002.
