Congratulations, you have purchased the finest air filter that money can buy. With proper care, this filter can last
many seasons. This filter can be used in a stock machine, with no modifications required. If any engine
modifications have been made tuning/jetting adjustments may be required. There are special installation
instructions, so please follow the procedures outlined below to ensure the K&N Filtercharger
®
seals properly.

THESE INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED EVERY TIME THE FILTER IS SERVICED,
OTHERWISE THE FILTER MAY NOT SEAL, AND DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE COULD
RESULT.
1. Remove the side cover.
2. Remove the stock air filter and the stock air filter guide.
Note: The stock air filter guide will not be used with the K&N Filtercharger
®
.
3. Clean the air filter sealing surface in the air box.
4. Apply the provided gasket.
Note: The notch in the gasket will go around the tab on the air filter holder. (Fig. 1)
5. Apply the provided K&N Sealing Grease to the groove on the K&N Filtercharger
®
where the
XStream Air Flow Top
®
will sit. (Fig. 2)
6. Install the XStream Air Flow Top
®
onto the K&N Filtercharger
®
.
7. Install the K&N Filtercharger
®
in the air box. (Fig. 3)
8. Install the rubber washer on the filter locator. (Fig. 4)
9. Put the rubber washer and the filter locator into the hole on the XStream Air Flow Top
®
.
10. Hold the K&N Filtercharger
®
into the proper position and latch the retaining wire. (Fig. 5)
Note: Make sure the filter locator is in the correct position. (Fig. 6)
11. Reinstall the side cover.
