PARTS LIST:

1. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the

vehicles negative battery cable.

NOTE: Disconnecting the negative battery

cable erases pre-programmed electronic

memories. Write down all memory settings be-

fore disconnecting the negative battery cable.

Some radios will require an anti-theft code to

be entered after the battery is reconnected. The

anti-theft code is typically supplied with your

owner’s manual. In the event your vehicles’

anti-theft code cannot be recovered, contact an

authorized dealership to obtain your vehicles

anti-theft code.

2. Loosen the four quarter turn fasteners

that attach the engine cover and lift off the

engine cover.

3. Disconnect the mass air sensor and

unhook the wiring harness from the airbox

and intake tube.

4. Loosen the two hose clamps that

secure the intake tube to the airbox and

turbo inlet tube.

5. Remove the stock intake tube from the

vehicle.

6. Loosen the four bolts that secure the

upper airbox housing to the lower airbox

housing and then remove the upper airbox

housing.

7. Remove the two lower airbox

mounting bolts.

NOTE: The inner lower mounting bolt

is located near the base of the

battery. One of the mounting bolts will

be reused in a later step.

8. Lift and remove the lower airbox

assembly.

NOTE: K&N Engineering, Inc., recom-

mends that customers do not discard

factory air intake.

Continued INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 9. Remove the turbo inlet tube mounting bolt shown. NOTE: This bolt secures the turbo inlet tube to the intercooler. 10. Remove the transmission mount bolt shown. NOTE: This bolt will be reused in a later step. 11. Install supplied short edge trim into the hole of the heat shield as shown. NOTE: Some trimming of the edge trim may be necessary. 12. Install the long edge trim around the outside of the heat shield as shown.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Continued ROAD TESTING: 1. Start the engine with the transmission in neutral or park, and the parking brake engaged. Listen for air leaks or odd noises. For air leaks secure hoses and connections. For odd noises, find cause and repair before proceeding. This kit will function identically to the factory system except for being louder and much more responsive. 24. Reconnect the vehicle’s negative battery cable.
