TOOLS NEEDED:

NOTE: FAILURE TO FOLLOW INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS AND NOT USING THE PROVIDED HARDWARE

MAY DAMAGE THE INTAKE TUBE, THROTTLE BODY AND ENGINE.

1. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative

battery cable.

NOTE: Disconnecting the negative battery cable

erases pre-programmed electronic memories.

Write down all memory settings before

disconnecting the negative battery cable. Some

radios will require an anti-theft code to be

entered after the battery is reconnected. The

anti-theft code is typically supplied with your

owner’s manual. In the event your vehicles’

anti-theft code cannot be recovered, contact an

authorized dealership to obtain your vehicles

anti-theft code.

9. Loosen the hose clamp at the throttle body, then

remove the stock intake tube as shown.

NOTE: K&N Engineering, Inc., recommends that

customers do not discard factory air intake.

2. Loosen and remove the two bolts that secure

the engine cover, then remove the engine cover as

shown.

3. Depress and slide the hose clamp off the crank

case vent connection at the air cleaner assembly

as shown.

4. Depress the hose clamp at the air temperature

sensor, then remove the air temperature sensor

from the stock intake tube as shown.

5. Disconnect the IA bypass control thermal valve

vent hose from the stock intake tube as shown.

6. Loosen the hose clamp at the air cleaner

assembly as shown.

7. Loosen the ve bolts that secure the upper air

cleaner assembly, then remove the assembly as

shown.

8. Remove the one hex nut and loosen the two hex

bolts that secure the lower air cleaner assembly,

then remove the assembly as shown.

NOTE: C.A.R.B. E.O.# D-269-32 ONLY

APPLIES TO 2002-05 ACURA RSX.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Continued 10. Loosen and remove the hex bolt that secures the air inlet duct as shown. 17. Slide the K&N® intake tube into the silicone hose on the throttle body, then line up the bracket on the tube with the original air cleaner mounting point as shown. ‘02-04 Models 11. Remove the air inlet duct as shown. 23. Install the K&N® air filter onto the K&N® intake tube, then, secure with the provided hose clamp as shown.
