7. Release the locking tab and then disconnect the
mass air sensor electrical connection.
8. Remove the bolt securing the air lter assembly
onto the inner fender.
9. Loosen the hose clamp securing the intake
tube to the throttle body and then remove the air
lter assembly and intake tube from the engine
compartment.
NOTE: K&N Engineering, Inc., recommends that
customers do not discard factory air intake.
10. Install the heat shield mounting bracket
(064325) onto the inner fender as shown using the
provided hardware.
11. Install the provided heat shield mounting
bracket (064326) onto the heat shield as shown
using the provided hardware.
NOTE: Be sure to place the provided spacer
between the bracket and heat shield.
12. Install the provided lter adapter into the heat
shield as shown and secure with the provided
hardware.
13. Install the provided edge trim onto the heat
shield as shown.
NOTE: Some trimming of the edge trim will be
necessary.
14. Set the heat shield onto the mounting bracket
installed in step #9 and secure with the provided
hardware.
NOTE: Do not secure the top bracket at this
time.
15. Install the K&N
®
air lter onto the adapter and
secure with the provided hose clamp, then secure
the heat shield and brackets to the air lter housing
mounting location using the provided hardware.
16. Install the provided hump coupler (08699) onto
the lter adapter and secure with the provided hose
clamp.
17. Install the provided hump coupler (08699) onto
the throttle body and secure with the provided hose
clamp.
18. Remove the mass air sensor from the factory
air lter housing.
19. Install the mass air sensor into the K&N
®
intake
tube and secure with the provided hardware.
20. Install the K&N
®
intake tube into the hose at the
lter adapter and then into the hose at the throttle
body, adjust the tube and hoses for best t and
then secure with the provided hose clamps.
21. Connect the crank case vent, EVAP vent and
idle by pass lines to the quick disconnect ttings
installed into the K&N
®
intake tube.
NOTE: On vehicles not equipped with an EVAP
vent line, install the provided caplug #08215
onto the quick disconnect tting.
